Contest to win a Fat Tire Sample Set shipped anywhere in the Con-US Free.

Rules:

1- Post in this thread indicating interest.
2- In this post, you must nominate TWO other members to receive a small token of appreciation (TBD at a later date). This nomination must include a few sentences of why they each deserve to be nominated, such as they were a big help to you in a certain project, greeted you warmly when you first joined PCF, or have simply been a great resource to the chip community. You don't need to go into extreme detail, but it should not be as simple as "I nominate p5woody, he's nice". It might look like this: "I nominate @p5woody because when I first joined PCF, he was nice, welcomed me into the community, and helped me a custom set of labels I was working on. Steve is always willing to help people out with their projects."
3- Make sure to tag each member, so they can see the nice things you're saying about them. [required]
4- The OP (me) is not eligible to be nominated.
5- A winner will be drawn at random from all eligible entries. This winner will receive a sample set mailed to them, and those they nominate will receive some small token of appreciation as well (TBD).
6- Contest open until I receive my FT chips from CPC (anticipated possibly March time-frame).
7- Items shipped free in the Con-US. International winners will have to pay any additional shipping costs.
8- Folks are more than welcome to give honorable mentions, but can only nominate TWO people. If they chose to gift their sample set to one of the honorable mentions, that's completely up to them. :)
9- If you're nominated by someone, they are ineligible for nomination BY YOU. This doesn't preclude someone else from nominating them independently.

This thread is all about spreading positive vibes amongst the PCF members. I look forward to hearing some great stories about how members have positively affected each others' lives.

Easy for me.

1. Interested

2. @Psypher1000 - Who else would willingly allow me to ship all the chips I buy to them while I do my time away from home? We aren't talking about a couple of racks. I'm not sure but it has to be at least 15 shipments. I've learned a lot from Scott and he also shared a "pay it forward" attitude regarding his fundraising for charity. Today he sent me a sneak preview movie of a few racks of my chips. I laughed out loud after seeing it and was the best part of my day.

@Don Clay - Nico has helped me hunt down many things in France. A few of my sets would not have the same flavor if it were not for Nico. He has an eye for prOn and his galleries are second to none in any continent. He has also helped my friends get chips that are very very hard to come by. A true gentleman and chipping friend...

I cannot stop at 2 members so please enter @Jackstraw in place of my name. Dan is responsible for allowing me to fill two holes in the sets I value the most. We all know he has a massive set of drool worthy chips and he helped me immensely in my time of need. I was thinking about last years mutha load thread and thought I couldn't top it this summer. Well, I've had to rethink that a bit and these year's prOn is going to be just as fun.

There are 3 other chippers out there that deserve similar props and if the rules allowed, I'd list them too.

3. done

I'm also submitting three names. I'm trading for a sample set. I don't need two (well, would take two, but you know what I mean).

1. @ChaosRock My first transaction on PCF was a trade of star burst chips. The transaction couldn't have been smoother. Since that point him and I have become solid friends on PCF and outside of PCF. Hell, I'm traveling to my second meet up with him in a few weeks. He also contributes to PCF with his awesome custom chip pron. Dude is always friendly, polite, and as respectful as it gets.

2. @Redbelly ...........He knows why. Sorry, I can't elaborate. Primarily because he is sincerely a genuinely nice guy.

3. @Phantom Like the Blades and Casino Royale chips aren't enough. He is another guy that is as nice as it gets. It was an honor to be included in assisting with his Casino Royale set and then for allowing me to steal his design and use it on my own edge spot colors.

@Trihonda , great idea for a give away. Well done sir. Looking forward to your meet up.

1. @PAZ, the most generous chipper on earth and a genuinely nice guy. I remember the giveaways that he ran on CT over several years to commemorate various occasions, and getting up at 4:30 a.m. to check out what he posted for that day (first to quote the post won the pictured item). A few years ago I was looking for a particular obsolete TRK casino chip, and knowing that he is an avid collector of TRKs, I asked if he had an extra one that he would sell to me. He said he didn't, but on my next birthday he send me not just that one chip but a complete sample set from that casino. If only he played cash games in addition to tournaments, he'd be perfect in my book.

2. See #1. Although there are many other members whom I would like to name, selecting just one is even more difficult than selecting the Greatest Chip of All Time.

1. @courage Chris has always been super nice to me. I'll never forget when I first joined CT I stumbled across some pictures of Club Cleos. I made a post about where I could buy a sample set and Chris sent me a sample set free (including postage) I was speechless because I had only been a member a short time and was amazed by the generosity.

2. @slisk250 when I was going through some shit times Mike reached out to me and offered help that left me stunned. He is a stand up guy and the world needs more like him.

3. Everyone else. Honestly there are so many I could mention who have either helped me out at one stage or even just sent a pm for a chat. I appreciate you all. :)

Easy for me too.

1. @Tommy
For creating our beloved PCF, having a gentleman attitude and being always ready on helping me when I need :)

2. @Poker Zombie

3. Many, in fact all, PCF members deserve to be nominated, great forum to take part, thanks @Trihonda for this cool thread and anothet CPC exciting set.

2. @slisk250
For nominating me, for being comprehensive about the chips I keep for myself (very selfish from me).
And for the hostin offer in Denver(y)

Don, please refer to rule # 9 in the OP. Not debating Slisk250's nomination worthiness, just trying to avoid quid-pro-quo and helping diversify the nomination pool.

Thanks for the contest Erik

1) @Toby for promoting my Suicide Queens in the HOF contest

2) @meatboy for selling the Suicide Queens to me

If I am randomly selected, I will pay for the international shipping.

Oups sorry I forgot to read the rules, lol.
I will edit tomorrow.

I am interested.

@k9dr Always willing to meet up in Vegas and do anything for me. Lets me ship stuff to his house, which he either reships or holds for me or brings to meetups. Ordered a Christmas present for me for my wife when the stupid website wouldn't accept a Canadian credit card. Winnar all around.

@courage Another major holder of stuff for me, even for as long as 8 months. Most recently I ordered this and had it shipped to his house:

x354-q80.jpg

Then generously gave me his own when mine showed up DOA, taking the chance that he wouldn't be able to get it replaced.

Interested!

@JFCJ and @AfterTheFact for sharing their TRK passion and some of their most precious chips with me and the PCF community as well.

Honorable mention: There are SO many that have helped me with their knowledge, chips, and efforts I would end up insulting those I forgot but 2 that require mention: @Tommy for his selfless assist with the Dunes $1s and @TheDeezer for the Casablanca $1s

I'll go with a guys I have hung out with in more different states than most people I've known in my life ;)

1- @ChaosRock - Georgia, Michigan, Indiana (3F), Illinois, Florida (next week)

4-way tie with four states... two have already been nominated (k9dr and detroitdad) so I held a flip between Jeff and Ben and the winner of the 2nd nomination is..................

2- @Jeff - Wisconsin, Georgia, Illinois, Florida (next week):)

I suppose it's only fair as Ben is more than likely running away with the opening flip @ the Melee ;)

I'll pay it forward...@JFCJ has already been nominated, so...

@Ben for making so many Meetups better with his dry humor and awesome play.

@abby99 for all the hard work trying to preserve Chiptalk, her encyclopedic knowledge of chips and poker and counting my pot bets for 8 years!

jeezus....I hope that suffices.

I nominate:

@BGinGA for his amazing dedication and hard work in organizing the massive Championship Poker Series Group Buy which allowed me to get a set of awesome chips and step up my chip game from previous sets I've owned, and for his always on-point advice for tournament structures

@DrStrange for his great strategic breakdowns and advice and I don't think I've ever seen him get caught up in drama or make an unkind post

And thanks to @Trihonda for making this thread, really a great gesture. Thanks to @Tommy for a wonderful site to share our love of poker and chips on as well!

Interested!

Now for the tough part - trying to name just 2...

@Mr Tree for putting on the Shootout. It's not just a meet-up, it's an excursion into a poker loving dream.

@links_slayer because his generosity of the links_slayer chip has touched nearly every member on the forum.

Sorry, @Mrs Poker Zombie -who's going to kill me for not nominating her on her birthday.

Awesome. I'll stick to those who haven't yet been nominated, to make this easier...

@David Spragg, for taking it basically upon himself to keep the custom clay market alive. For providing great CS at all hours of his day. For not only putting up with, but making it part of his business model to cater to extreme chip-nerdism with minimal incentive (in terms of profit) to do so. Just imagine what the chip world would be now without him?!?

@Chicken Rob, for being an all-around awesome Reverend Chicken Doctor who opens his home to random southerners, and is always tons of fun to hang with besides. I'm not sure what's going on with him currently (and I'm not one to pry) but I hope it all works out!

@David Spragg, for so many (obvious) reasons.

@Ben for being a great guy to hang out with

@abby99 for being such a good friend.

Hmmm... some of you guys are getting pretty lazy in your nominations. :whistling:

Might be grounds for DQ. :sneaky:

Gotta give some details, maybe a brief story, or at least a few sentences... but more than "greay guy" or "good friend" or "Obvious reasons". See contest rule #2

If they deserve to be nominated, you gotta be able to write a few sentences about why. Should be easy!

C'mon folks, show the love towards your fellow chippers!

I am so interested.

@liftapint who helped me get the elusive Empress $1 chips (with the blue, grey, maroon edge spots), super nice and even thru in a few extra than what I needed.

@T_Chan always willing to answer questions and is quick to respond, I got a sample of the custom felt and was shipped out quickly..willing to give advice on building tables even though he builds them as his business..

So many Awesome people here very hard to choose....

Picky picky. Updated mine.

Oh crap. There are so many people I could name....

Even though I'm not the first to nominate him is @Redbelly . Sean's meat-ups are great. He is a superb host who makes all feel welcomed. He is an ambassador to chipdom, with his timely rescue of some wonderful mold history. On a more personal level, some of his hospitality has come at a time that was personally quite difficult for me. I don't think I ever verbalized all my problems, but Sean was just a good person to be around during those times. If you know him, you know that effect he has on people. A real winner.

Second to name is @links_slayer . I haven't met josh, but I can't help but feel his uplifting spirit and courageous fortitude in battling cancer. Lemons to lemonade, Josh has shared his deepest vulnerabilities with us all and pushed beyond treatment to benefit all of those fighting the good fight. Hats off to you Josh.

Honorable mention to Chris, aka courage, Tom, aka Mr. Tree, Mike, aka racer96

I'm going to nominate two people who haven't received one yet.

@bergs for being the hands down funniest person on PCF. The one guy on here who regularly makes me honest to God lol.

@jbutler for his tireless work on the wtf thread, HOF committee, and for being a 100% true to himself individual.

Honorable mention would have been named if he wasn't already nominated. @Redbelly who is my chipping hero.
