I'm poking all you guys for this, what are couple of your favorite, readily available, denominated chips that are not associated with a casino or card room (real or fake) out there? I know the rounders will be up there, but what are some for other budgets? Maybe a high end option and one for the masses? I'm looking forward to what you guys have seen!

I know the difference between 'casino chip' and 'fantasy chip' --- but how are you defining 'readily available' ? For sale by multiple vendors?

Not sure exactly what you are asking.... especially since Rounders are fantasy chips, not casino chips.

I'm sorry, I really butchered this one. I meant non casino, real or fake. Basically a nice denominated chip. Also a chip that it would be relatively easy to get, I wouldn't have to scour the classifieds hoping they came up. BGinGA, I was curious to see what you had to say, I feel like you've seen every chip out there.

Lol, still unsure of your intent. All chips are real, so I'm befuddled by your use of the phrase 'real or fake'.

Maybe you just want a list of non-casino denominated (clay) chips that you can buy off-the-shelf?

That's what I was looking for, if there were any that people really liked. I'm sorry it took three trips around the mountain to get there!

Like Detroit Dan mentioned, stock chips from CPC are going to be liked by many around here, since a number of PCF members had at least a little something to say about the designs, names, or colors on a few of the chips.

Budget level you can find Majestics or CPS chips - the latter being so commonly available in the classifieds that it might as well be considered "readily available".

Also in the budget friendly line are a number of ceramic chip sets. I moved beyond ceramics years ago, but I don't dislike them either. I'd prefer China clay over ceramics, but many prefer ceramics over China clay. It's simply a preference, and is not logic based (like a good blind structure).

Thanks man, I think the next step in my jouney is to check out some nice ceramics. Not sure I'm ready to start ordering from CPC just yet.

Apache Poker Chips has these 2 options available:

There are definitely plenty of better chips out there. However, most nice chips are going to have some sort of identity designation, and not just a denomination on them.

If your budget is in the 70¢ to 90¢ per chip range, you can get custom ceramics or custom ceramic hybrids, with your choice of colors, denoms etcetera.

For that 70¢ price range, you could also put your own personalized Gear labels on blank china clay Majestics or Milanos.

I went that route because I am also in the preferring-china-clays-over-ceramics camp.

Maybe FunNites also fit your criteria? They are denominated but not branded with a real or fake casino. Buck'ish a chip for clay. Not terribly hard to find in the classifieds.

In fact I think I just saw a real sweet set of them sold in the past couple of days. :whistling:

Not my favorite, but I don’t think it has been mentioned, Paulson Classics.

There are some for sale in the classifieds right now. Used chips can usually be found for a reasonable price.

If you are looking at the hybrid ceramic set Old West Poker Supplies just finished up a group sale. Next he will be offering them as a stock option on his site. Good designs for a reasonable amount and available in 39 and 43mm versions which is unusual. You can see them on this thread: https://www.pokerchipforum.com/thre...43mm-39mm-three-themes-cash-tournament.23508/

As always try to get samples to see what you like.
