Is it a cardinal sin of chipping to scale down the denominations for chips such as $5/$25/$100/$500/$1000 to represent $0.05/$0.25/$1/$5/$10 in a small stakes cash game?

Already have a correct cash set of the Aria's coming in, but was thinking some of the chip designs on the higher denominations sets look pretty cool.

To each his own but I do not prefer to play that way.

There is a difference in the number of chips you need for cash and tourney, and, as you know, it's not a good idea to use the same chips in cash and Tourney

This is subjective but I say it is not. Here's my micro stakes set that can be used for .05/.10 to .25/.50:

Do what you like, but I do think part of the point of getting customs and semi-customs is to have correctly denominated chips. It's more impressive than a divide by 100 compromise. But that's just my opinion, ymmv.

Those have never been made so I do not have samples of those. I have some Bellagio and Mirage samples on the no-mold

FYI, the nickel in the OP (with the large inlay) is actually facing the opposite direction on each side than pictured, to keep consistent the alternating directions from denom to denom…

(I also changed the large inlay nickel to be a grayer pink instead of straight gray.)

…except for the $20 and $25, which face the same direction since they shouldn’t be used in the same set.

Similarly, the original (regular-size "inlay") old school design also has the new nickel facing the alternate direction from the quarter. Like this:

FYI @justincarothers’s GBs are for designs he’s produced before or new ones being offered to the community. If you have a custom design, you’d need to find a custom design GB. They haven’t been running as much unfortunately. If you think your design might appeal to the community you could PM Justin to see if he’d consider offering it, then you can get what you need.
