what do yous all do to satisfy your chip addiction? i just ordered a custom set of cpc's, bought a set of br pros right after. then realized cpc stocked rounders chips, bought a set of those. and now about to place another cpc order. ill still be waiting 3 plus months for the first set to come in.

im close enough to ac, im going to start going there and buying $1 barrels.

I keep buying, and sometimes selling chips. Sounds like you are on the right path.

I read posts like this and realize I'm just a guy with a hobby and not actually addicted like some of you guys. That way I'm not forced to face the reality of having amassed like 5k chips within six months of joining this forum "so I can get a good deal on an upgrade for these dice chips"

this is exactly what im afraid of. my wife cant handle another one of my addictions, let alone my bank account.

First of all, I keep telling myself "it's not me, I just like the cihps".
Took a little break from the forum after buying custom Tinas, came back perfectly fine few months ago, since then waiting for my first Paulsons set to arrive (damn you USPS/Polish Post) and all of a sudden I'm half way through designing new customs, cause you know, I definitely NEED another custom set when I host once a quarter if lucky. So yeah, definitely not me

Not judging anyone here, as I do see the appeal to collecting as many chips. But it’s been hard for me to wrap my head around why so many sets are soo huge yet only serve a table once a month. If I had the funds it would just seem like getting multiple sets of 400-500 would be ideal.

This. I've come to realise I really just need 400 chip sets, that will do for the games we play.
I have 2 racks of .50 chips in my set that have never even been felted cause I may need to play .50/.50 instead of 1/1 one day. Still waiting for that day...

I think you need a couple of cpc sets, a bcc set, Paulson set, a live casino set, and of course a trk set.

Only a couple of the sets need to spread two tables. Of course, one of the sets should be a limit set.

Nice, that’s how I’d like to go about building my collection. Granted I had no idea limit sets got so crazy. Initially the only reason I could think of owning a 1K+ set is to have a cash and tournaments set of the same chip. I’m a week into this hobby, so that hopefully excuses my ignorance.

I love limit. I needed a bcc set, so this made sense.

I wasn't planning on it, but someone was selling these orange DieCars for a song and I already had this rack of black DieCars I didn't know what to do with but really liked so of course the answer was to buy 9 racks of orange and make a halloween limit set. Never mind I'm the only one in my group who has ever played anything but NLHE and I'll be lucky if I can convince them to play with them on halloween itself.

This place does things to your brain. Not mine though. Totally not addicted.

I like to be able to offer two racks of the work horse chip per person. We play $4/$8 (blinds $2/$4). My preference is two racks of $2.00 chips for every player. Our limit games are 7 players max. Then I like to have one rack of the big chip. The set I currently own has 2.5 racks of the big chips. They will never see play.

First advise is step back and calm down for a moment, this hobby is very easy to go crazy and impulse buy everything that you like.

If you're not careful, you might end up with more chips than your poker table can hold (It either a very good or bad thing depending on the situation)

So heres the first haul, both play and shuffle like butter. I dont know what hard rocks are but you cant beat thc’s for a dollar. Ill clean these up and make them look like ladies. …and, i think this will be the start of my limit set. Cant beat the price/quality.

Ok you are going to get roasted. The one in the left is a house mold, the right one is RHC. Both are Paulsons though. And a good deal for a buck
