Canadian sample set is available for immediate sign up and forwarding, for those who are interested.
Received the US set yesterday, thank you @jacquesdc99. Surprised how many there were. I will happily fondle them for the next few days and post when I am ready to send them off. I ended up getting a cash set of HSI, but seeing all the different stuff could end up being detrimental to my wallet. Wish me luck!
Definitely interested in this idea but I'm curious if you have an estimated shipping cost. I understand that the it will probably depend on the next person on the list's address. also curious if you have any shipping rules other than what is listed in the post. i.e. would it be ok to send in a flat rate box etc because that would also make a difference in shipping prices. Thanks.Hello, everyone!
There have been many, many new forum members joining in the last few weeks and months. Almost all of them are new to chips beyond the dice variety or other metal-slugged plastics, and who among us doesn't remember being there? The advice, which surely should be enshrined as official PCF mantra, has been "get samples". And, of course, there are plenty of opportunities for them and everyone else to get all sorts of lower end plastics, China Clays, ceramics, and CPC. But there has been a bit of a dearth when it comes to Paulsons and other "higher end" chips, as they can be rarer, expensive, or unavailable.
Well, no longer. I have dug into my own little collection of chips to offer a variety of chips in enough quantities that a new interested chipper can physically handle and compare these chips to other sample they may already have gotten. There will be two sets available. Take a look at this picture showing what will be included in the sample set:

total 40 chips each Sample Set
THE RULES
If you want to receive one of these two sample selections, please post your interest here, NOT by PM. I will wait a few days and sort through the interest posts, and divide them into two groups. If there's a significant Canadian interest, one set will preferentially make the rounds in Canada first. Otherwise, both sets may go wherever they may.
I will mail out the two sets to the first forum member on each list, totally at my cost. Each member, in turn, is responsible for forwarding the set to the next member on his/her list. The package will be small enough to fit into a SFRB in the US, or an Extra Small Canada Post package in Canada, with a little extra room for padding. I would ask that care be taken in re-shipping, trying to use the same care in packaging that you received. The forwarding cost shall be borne by the sender. No addresses should be posted in this thread - that information should be done by separate PMs, from shipper to receiver, in order.
Technically speaking, anybody would quality to receive these chips, regardless of PCF join date, or number of posts, or anything else. However, I will give priority to those who have joined more recently, or those who have fewer total messages, or both. If you are an experienced chipper, you probably won't need to evaluate these, but I won't exclude you.
In order to keep these sets circulating, I would request that each person, in turn, keeps the chips for their evaluation no more than 10-14 days, and post in the thread when you have forwarded the set. I will update the listing from the information provided to let everyone know where the sets should be. If the lists start to get too long, I will post a new thread with updated information and close off the old thread to keep things navigable.
Please treat the chips with care. You may handle, lightly shuffle, inspect, stack, balance, and even smell them if you wish. Please try to keep them clean. Do not scratch, bite, or kick them. Do not mill them. Do not try to peel off any of the inlays. Do not try to test their durability by subjecting them to high impact, corrosion, or other physical stress tests (you can try a psychological stress test, but that would be much more telling about you than about the chips). Do not bring them into contact with dice chips.
If we reach the end of the list, then the last person should be prepared to return the package to me, to my Canadian address. It doesn't have to be by Priority mail, but it also shouldn't take 30 days to get here, either.
If someone has the chips and decides to go totally incommunicado, or figures they just want these chips for free and steal from me, then you will receive NEGATIVE feedback and all the black karma that should surely descend upon your black soul. And if you decide to see it from the cynical perspective that I'm only providing these chips to other people so I can eventually sell them stuff, I say 1) that's not true, and 2) so what? isn't that precisely what "get samples" means?
Feel free to ask questions, and post interest in the thread.

Thanks for adding those HSI's. Those are niceI tossed them into a spare warneke box I had laying around and I tossed in 5 hsi used primary $1s as well. (Went with new and had a barrel laying around)
Thank you for organizing and doing this! It was awesome to play with all the different chips. It was hard not cashing in the live chips, lol. I will be putting this in the mail tomorrow.
I'm fairly new to PCF & am in Nova Scotia, Canada - I'd love to borrow this sample set and be part of the Canadian group! The rules seem more than fair, and this is a great opportunity for me to get a sense of what these high-end chips are like.Always open to new signups for these sample sets!
The Canadian sample set is currently ready to go, available to the next Canadian chipper that signs up.
The waiting list for the 2 USA sample sets are now very short, so new signees won't have to wait long for them.
When I am through I will happily pass this awesome set to the next person.
ps: @allforcharity, I think we're going to have to update the OP with the description of the new chips.
I actually was able to purchase 2 racks of my very first Paulson chips. I didn’t want to take this set away from a new chip collector for no reason. Great idea and great program put together by no-doubt some amazing people in here.@Portamos , please contact @John_Higgs for address info and forward when convenient - thanks!
I am interested. This is GREAT btw!!! Thank you for doing it!Hello, everyone!
