WTF? The rumor out there is that Weiss and Benioff are being pursued by Disney to create a new Star Wars Trilogy, outside of the Skywalker saga. Why? Didn’t see the train wreck that was the last season of GOT?

Finally the apology we deserve...
Started rewatching this and I'm almost done. Halfway through season 7 (first half of the split last season) and time didn't make it any less hard to watch. 
Urgh it's still hard just thinking about the Trainwreck that was the last couple of seasons of GoT.
Imagine if Lord of the rings had ended with Pippin launching out of the sky to stab Sauron in the eye. Gandalf smoked a celebratory pipe containing some dodgy weed that sent him instantly mad and Frodo had to kill him. Then Aragorn decided he'd had enough and let samwise be king instead.
Oh but it's ok that the plot and character actions made no sense in relation to everything that's led up to this point, because subverted expectations brah.

GRR is never going to finish the next book
If the fucking covid quarantine didn't get him to make progress, nothing will
His facebook is littered with posts about everything BUT the book, including pictures of him dressing in stupid costumes
And his comments are filled with folks saying FINISH THE FUCKING BOOK! which he always ignores
If I had to put money on a side, it would be him not finishing the book. I doubt he even works on it anymore. He made all that money with the show and has no incentive anymore

I'm more inclined to think that he saw the series and thought "Fuck, that's way better than my ending, where Ned wakes up and we learn this was all a dream."

An author's incentive to write is never money. Writing is a poor man's job, and one in a million (if not more) make it big.

I believe he already expressed in an interview that the TV ending is not how he would have done it
I haven’t read the books. but can understand it would be frustrating if you’ve been waiting for the next book and it’s been years.
Frustrating is not the word lol. Though an unfinished book is still better than the giant shit d&d took on the ending of the series.
It had been so long since I'd read the first few that I had to re-read the series when the last one came out. I'm not doing it again.

I think "A Dream Of Spring" should be renamed "A Nightmare Of Fans".
GRRM said recently that he's been productive during lockdown, and has written hundreds of pages for TWOW over the last few months. He also said there are a few hundred more to go.

Also, I had no clue until yesterday that Loras Tyrell was Iron Fist!
Ugh last night was ep where the white walkers attack winterfell aka the black screen episode. Forgot how it looks like everyone are all dead (freemen, northmen, dothraki, and unsullied) minus the main characters and then they're like "we lost half our forces" the next ep. The stupidest calvary charge ever (John, Sansa, and Danny are all terrible commanders 
) and of course the fact that Brans whole story line is pointless accept that he's catnip for the night king and reveals john should be the king.
