There's not much out by me, and I hate Timbers of Troy. Best (public) course is Waverly Woods, but it's just too overpriced. Maybe I need to check out some of the MoCo courses

The MoCo public courses are pretty good. My favorites are Needwood, Northwest, and Hampshire Greens. I play Needwood the most.

So, I can hit my 7i-PW well. The hybrids are ok. 6i and 5i (mainly the 5), I just can’t. Has anyone gone “same length” clubs from 7-5? Wondering if I can get mine cut down a little. It’s really just a mental thing at this point.
Oh, and 6 months ago I was hitting the 7i around 125-130. Hit this today (averaging about 150-160 every shot though)

Don't get them cut down, as that might create a new set of problems with shaft stiffness. Try choking down a little on the grip to see if that helps first.

If you hit fairways well...try a 9 wood.
Hitting 7i 178 is baller status! I moved to all hybrids. My first iron is a 9i which I consider a wedge at this point. I hit my 7 hybrid about 160-165.

Picked up my new irons today and I'm super pumped! Took them to a bay to hit each club on the Trackman. Some background - I'm 67 and with my previous irons, a really good 5 iron would be about 185. 170 was normal. With the new clubs I was averaging (solid hits) over 195, and this was my best shot out of around a dozen hits. Can't wait to hit the course!!!
I find it interesting. I just purchased 2 items this week; 1 a bunch of Vice golf balls (6 dozen for the price of 5), and some new tech (Hackmotion device). One is coming from Latvia (FedEx), and the other MUNICH, BY, DE. (UPS). Not surprised about the hack motion ... but was a tad by the Vice.
Not that I really care where they came from, as long as they get here

When I got fitted for my new irons, I asked the fitter for a ball recommendation among value priced balls. He recommended the Vice Drive.
