Gone But Not Forgotten Poker Chips Sets (Now with photos of over 200 Sets!) (6 Viewers)

Le Club de Champion -- first "inexpensive" version of customs. (Solid ASMs with printed labels)

Small "Tour de France"-inspired set that was used for small cash games / tournaments -- chip colors don't correspond to "standard" denominations as I wanted to match the jerseys / chips.

Even though, as you point out, you're on the forum so maybe they technically shouldn't count for this thread, we'll let you slide ;)

Whew! Since I don't want to break too many rules within my first 10 posts, I'll save the "better" set for another thread.

(Well, that and I don't have decent pics of them. Yet.)

If I were making the rules, teasing without posting pr0n would be against them :D

But we'll await proper photos and look forward to their unveiling (or re-unveiling if they were already on CT, I suppose).

Yep, E&C. Really nice $1 chip iirc
My first custom set. Didn't know anything about chips or chip design. I do like them though. Thanks for the mention.

As I was playing with @Mr Tree's beautiful Paymaster set this weekend, I got to talking with @courage about the best custom ceramic sets of all time. In addition to the Golden Stardusts in post #16, I have always loved Kilgore's Poker & Cinema by @Dr Lecterr who I literally just learned as I typed his @ name is a member here as well!

So maybe not appropriate for this thread in light of your membership here, Doc, but I do love these chips, so here they are. Of course, if you want to throw some new pr0n up I'm sure we'd all be appreciative :)

Also realized posting these that somehow another of my favorite ceramic sets isn't in this thread: Feldman's Place by CT member/admin @jojobinks. Beautiful set and IIRC a very early example of custom Chipcos.

Another I'd missed. CT member kensco's ceramics which were intended, in his words, "to commemorate the period I lived in Germany, using the currency symbol of the time." Obviously the design is not extravagant, but I do like the coat of arms and I like most any chips that are so highly personalized.

Aaaaand one more great Chipco set. Unfortunately I only have one shot of these, but they were an early favorite of mine. Commissioned by @joshuadalton and designed by CT member @kmalsom, these were a tribute to - but imo better than - the Casino Royale and Hotel in Vegas.

As with the Kilgore's set above, I would love to see some new pr0n of these from Josh since he's a member here. Beautiful set!

I looked thru the thread but have we forgotten High Arctic Poker? abcgiftsandawards.com ceramics by CT user str8edg.

Love everything about these, the simple art, humor, and great color combos and matching. Each chip very distinctive. one of my all-time favs.

I think the Paymasters could get a shot next year. The problem is that we only add 4 sets per year and there are some great clay sets that are more likely in line.

Agreed - BCC colors > CPC colors > Ceramics. However, there have been some ceramics in this thread that would actually make me consider another set of ceramics. Inspiration should be a key consideration in HoF voting, and this thread has a ton of inspiration.

Great thread @jbutler !

Depending on the number of nominations we can send up to five sets per year. Next year is going to be a bumper crop.

Since I am HOF chairman I'm not going to pimp my own set but I have serious worries about how Paymaster would do in an HOF vote. I think a lot of people will not vote for ceramics regardless of what you show them.

Unfortunately I agree. This combined with the fact that we have seen some seriously killer sets that will be up for consideration for the first time will make it a hard road ahead for the Paymasters, but they'll definitely have a big shot at my vote.
