Good or vad poker chips (1 Viewer)

Not voodoo but day of the dead theme.

And has the cash denoms you seek.

Nice .....I thought there was a wanted poker chips with Billy the kid or doc holiday on them...they were out years ago. Still available?

I seem to like western theme or voodoo type chips if there are any sites that sell these types...Or any photos...

Not exactly voodoo, but check out Dia De Los Muertos chips. They're ceramic, and more expensive than the Outlaws, but you might like the artwork.

Nevada Jacks are ceramic chips that are western, poker, and skull themed:

Poker chips with strongly themed and vivid graphic designs are usually ceramic sets, because ceramic chips can be printed with a design covering the entire face, rather than just the center portion of the chip as is typical with other types of chips.

You can get custom chips using whatever artwork you want, so you can roll-your-own cowboy theme. There's lots of different ways to do that, from custom ceramic chips to custom-printed labels that you can use to relabel almost any kind of chip you like. You have to provide your own art, or work with a graphic designer who can do the art for you.

There are people on PCF who have spent a quarter of a million dollars on poker chips. There are people here who aren't bothered by losing $10,000 in a bad night at the poker table.

There are other people here who are looking at Outlaw chips because they fit their budget.

Let people make their own decisions about how much money they should be gambling with.
I have no issue letting people make their decision. OP asked for advice. The whole fucking purpose for asking for advice is to make an informed decision. Clearly, you have never asked for advice before - or from your other posts, performed any accurate research on your own.

My Outlaw samples sound about like my mint TR King samples.
This may be the worst information I have ever heard. I would love to have you blindly toss a stack of TRKs in a pot and a stack of Outlaws, and wager $100 a throw. If I guess correctly, I collect the money, otherwise you collect. TO be fair, I have some hearing loss from old age and 24+years of firefighting, so if these "sound about the same", you should make a mint!

If you play a friendly neighborhood game once a month for $10, do you really need the best of the best even if you could technically afford it?
No, you dont. You also dont take the time to make an account and ask questions either.

Look, I get it - the OP has a fascination with cowboys. It is probably why he selected that particular image for his avatar. I don't think he was asking if the image was good enough, though he did seem to question if the ink came off, so it is apparent he has little to no experience with chips above dice chips - and that is fine too. We all start somewhere, and work our way up. It certainly doesn't help if someone is espousing terrible/incorrect advice, but that is the beauty of a forum. You can hear all the voices, and make your own decisions.

I can easily tell the difference. I said they sound similar, not the same. My point was not how much they sound like TR Kings, but rather how little they sound like dice chips. Dice chips ring; Outlaws slightly clink. The TR Kings that I have (five sample chips from Apache) also slightly clink, but even less so than Outlaws.

But I apologize; I don't think this is helping the OP make decisions. He has some samples now and can make his own decisions about how they sound.

It's just opinions...we're all different... Why I don't make generic graphic poker tables..

I'm more on here because of the poker tables not the chips. But.....eventually I would like to have nicer chips. When the option for the Samuari palace poker chips was available I shoukd have bought them. But..... that's the way it goes..

It's like many things: we're trying to get (and recommend) the best quality chips for the best price. Manufacturers have tried, with varying degrees of success, to try and replicate the sound and feel of clay chips using less expensive materials and processes. The least expensive chips very rarely can aspire to these properties, which is why they remain the least expensive.

I'll probably if I like the 50 I bought buy 600 of new or used if anybody has any in .25,1.00 and 5 and get started on the zombie poker tour chips...

I'd like to but I don't want to wake up in the morning with a knife in me because my wife could care less..

I'm disabled now. I have to buy in small portions at a time..

There should never be a rush to buy mass produced lower end plastics, or even stock China Clays and ceramics, because they are always available. There's no shame in playing with dice chips or old interlocking plastic toy chips until you've taken some time to learn about the differences in the market, and also to build up/fix your budget.

I use to play with a lot of older fellers that where I there 60-70's. Color chips were ok but where constantly asking the denominations. Denominations on the chips eliminated that problem.... Now I'd like to slowly start moving up in chips. I don't have the 1000 chip denomination chip set. A friend does but hasn't played in awhile. So... I'm trying to get started with something and then I can enjoy more purchases....

You definitely want denominations on chips. Given the age of your players, you might want to make the numbers big as well.

Heck, I want big numbers on my chips, and I'm still a couple of decades away from them!

ain't nothing workin' like it used to any more

@Rebelwork , I know everyone here has probably given you the whole "plastic metal-slugged chip" thing already so I won't bother with all that. What I will say from my own experience is that you don't need to spend an arm and a leg for truly good chips. When the time comes, head on over to https://brpropoker.com/collections/poker-chip-sample-sets and get yourself a sample set or two of ceramics. A lot of people like ceramics, they get the chip weight right, and there is no limitations on the customization. When I finally upgraded from Claysmith sluggos I fell in love with cermaics. You can check out my set here https://www.pokerchipforum.com/threads/gene-kristil-micro-stakes-magic.53333/#post-1014678. Ceramics give you an outstanding chip at a price point much easier to live with when you are on a budget.

I actually have 700 of these from Clay Smith the original dealer. There's quite a bit of flashing on the sides but I've taken most of it off. They're actually nice chips sort of LOL
I hope you see this, as I'm responding to an old post. I'm considering getting some Clay Smith chips for my dad, as he needs denominated chips. He's currently using dice chips. I'd like to get him a set, but not break my bank since he won't really care. Would you recommend these for this purpose?

I had those quite a long time ago. Be aware that they have rough edges because of flashing from the manufacturing process. I would suggest Turbo ceramics from thepokerstore.com or even some of the metal slugged chips from discountpokershop.com especially their outlaws, lucky horseshoes or monaco

Thanks. I'll check them out. I'm also looking at Apache site. I can't tell, but it seems that their plastic chips are a step up maybe?
