Guitars you own (4 Viewers)

I’ve never played an Ibanez. I do prefer the fender necks over Gibson’s. Being a lefty I’m a bit limited to what I can play. Always wanted a double neck SG  :ROFLMAO:
Ibanez necks are thinner feeling. I think they are similar or same length as Fender and the string spacing is in between Fender and Gibson. I used to play a 5 string bass but kinda hated the neck, then I received a project bass needing paint/electronics that was an early 90s Ibanez 5 string and the neck was amazing, much like I found the guitar necks to be.

My 6 string I used the most. Cheaper mid range Ibanez but I replaced the neck and bridge with Dimarzios.

I also have a POD floorboard like you, the HD500x. I think for the money that thing is amazing.

Comparing the Ibanez Wizard profile vs a typical Strat neck, think "wide", "flat", & "shallow".

Historically speaking, Ibanez has been the shredder's choice. Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, et al. Nita Strauss recently collaborated on a signature model, based off a variant of the S-series.

Width-wise there may not be a lot of difference, but thickness-wise the Wizard is markedly thinner. Fretboard radius is a big difference. Only 16" for the Wizard ala Charvel & Jackson vs the 7-1/4" or 9-1/2" on a Fender (depending on vintage).

My Japanese strat’s neck is a lot thinner than the two American ones and my telecaster. I stopped playing it because it hurt my fingers as I’m not used to how thin the neck is  :ROFLMAO:

Oh hell, just for kicks & entertainment value... since I brought it up.... why not?

Guitar solo anyone?......

Seen Alice Cooper a few times. He always gigs when he’s over in Scotland to play golf.

Nice! I’ve done 2 partscasters myself. Both loaded with Fralin pickups. Currently working on a tele...going to try some Seymour Duncan antiquities in this one. What type of pickups did you use or plan to use? Wood types? Etc...

well, the 2HB strat has GFS pickups. i wanted to check them out & the solderless harness. they are actually great pickups but not totally up my alley. i'm thinking about trying bareknuckle piledrivers in there & soldering up the harness myself. i've got zhangbucker chimecasters for the tele build.

i have a couple shecters with the duncan design which i'm hearing represent the jb/59 combo & i like that or dimarzio tone zones. always on the hunt for the great tones though

oh yeah so, wood types: the s-type is ash w/ a roasted maple neck & fretboard. t-style is alder w/ a maple neck & pau ferro fretboard. the bass is korina w/ rosewood neck/board

I always wanted to try electrohamonix pedals but the only shop that sold them here went bust.

I have been a fan of EH pedals for over 20 years. The negative is that they are definitely space takers on your board (as you can see). They also run at higher voltages -- 24v if I a not mistaken. The micro synth takes up perhaps too much space in relation to its value with my sound, but it remains there for a good reason. The envelope filter, I will ALWAYS have. I LOVE that pedal. The two lovepedals will also always have a home because they are true tone shapers along with the Wampler Tumnus and of course, the Boss tuner -- gotta have it!

That said, if you need an envelope filter, feel confident about buying the EH Q-tron+ BLIND. It does not disappoint

I have never used an envelope filter. Feels like I’ve missed out. There’s probably one on my line 6. I’ll need to check in out.

Only got the 3 out just now. The rest are above the front door and I can’t be bothered getting the ladder out to bring them down... :ROFLMAO:

so, @Big Jilm is the darkglass an always on pedal for you? i been playing with the trial plugin on neural dsp & ended up ordering a classic deluxe v2. i want it for a direct box. i kinda wonder what the many variations are ~it seems like there's a lot. i liked the vintage ultra more than the b7k.

No, I need to take an updated picture of my bass pedal board. I sold the Darkglass because I don't really like distorted bass. In fact, I have a new bass pedal board altogether. I will snap a pic and upload it today...

My 1974 Ric 4001. Bought this used in 1983 for a negotiated price of $325. Something that grows in value faster than Paulsons...
That Ric is so cool! I'd love to have one of those!

A few years ago I bought a few guitars to have around the house to try to tempt the kids into learning to play. It has not worked at all, other than plugging in and making some loud noise for a bit. I've got a kid-sized Strat, an Ibanez bass, and my old acoustic. And my daughter has one of the plastic Hello Kitty type guitars. :D Got some kind of cheap amp with the bass and a Fender modeling amp to go with the Strat.

I took guitar lessons for like 5 years as a kid and was never any good at it. My manual dexterity is terrible. My son somehow inherited some musical ability though (must be from his mom), and he plays piano really well and percussion in the school band. He's much better than me at Rock Band and Guitar Hero too.
