Guns you own (8 Viewers)

Oh, I forgot, you are extremely old.... That's not "glass".... It's a "red dot" and it's pretty common now a days....

Wait till this guy finds out remote controls for TVs... It's gonna blow his mind!
Typical millennial... gets criticized and lashes out.

If you need to use an EDC, you're not gonna need an optic. If you have time to use an optic, you have time to call 911.

Just sayin', son.

Wedge doesn't know how these work.... That's okay.... They are "always on".... I know, battery's are new to you. It's actually faster to use....

But don't worry, I can appreciate muskets that you love too....

Pistols are for fighting your way back to your rifle... Not for precision shooting while under stress. But you do you.
Oh god... Here we go about how the M1 GaRanD saved us from zee Nazis....

Can someone warm up some cocoa... This is gonna take a while.

Sorry y'all are being punished over a banana guyz.

Definitely nothing wrong with having optics on your edc, Ive see tons of people train with and without them. Whatever helps your accuracy

Suggestions on a solid, overall 7.62 x 51 that is NOT an AR-10 clone? Been considering a Springfield M1A for a long time, but the optic mounting system just seems so awkward that I’ve held off. Thoughts on that or something else out there that’s proven successful for you?

What are you thinking for intended use? If you are looking for a battle rifle type, a G3 or clone would work well.

I don't own one but have shot a friend's (believe he has a PTR build). Very soft recoil due to roller delayed system. Surplus (affordable) magazines can be found. I'm not sure about optic mounting systems nor expected accuracy. It was a very heavy rifle but fun to shoot and hit 6" round steel at 100 yards with iron sights.

Edit: SCAR is also an option but I have zero experience outside of YouTube with those.

PTR91. You can get them with scope rails.

Downside: They chew up brass, so not cool if you reload.

An all around 7.62 slug thrower. Looking for more accuracy, power and distance than comes from a 5.56.

Don’t need a mil style weapon, of course, since the chances of me using it for that purpose are basically nil, but I am not a hunter and the styling and fine tuning of a hunting rifle are lost on me.

Something like an M1A seems to be a bit more robust while maintaining the majority of the advantages of the 7.62.

I’ve considered the G3. Also looked at the FAL. I just can’t get beyond how ugly the SCARs look. Or their price tag.

Hahahahaha I didn’t even read this before I posted.

I loved my PTR91 but I sold it a while back. I need to get a new one.

SCAR is a very good option, but quite expensive.

Ever since I went rabbit hunting last year I’ve been thinking of grabbing another 12 gauge - traded one of my 22 revolvers for this plus cash my way. Nice and light compared to my tank of a set up 870.

Unfired Mossberg 500 with vented 28” and spare 18” barrel. Time to beat the shit out of my shoulder with the 1,000 rounds of 00 buck I bought over the last year. Game shot will be like a 22 - now to grab # 6 shot for rabbit

Went to a range that I don’t go to all that much and couldn’t help myself. The three day wait starts now.

Hint: Starts with a C and ends with ython.

So the wife offered to buy me a lever action rifle to go with my six shooters for Father's day.
Sadly, she somehow got the idea that all guns only cost $200.
But, now that I have to (oh darn) buy a rifle, I have a choice between a $600 Rossi and an $850 Henry (same configs)

I know that the Henry is better, but how close are they really?

I’ve never shot a Rossi, but the Henry I’ve shot and they’re awesome. I’ve been on the lookout for a Henry Big Boy X in 357 for a while. I can find them in .45 colt but I don’t have any other gun in that caliber. My two Colt revolvers are in 357.

I owned a Rossi 38/357 lever for a hot minute. I shot maybe a box of ammo through it and don't recall having any issues. I owned a Henry 22 as well. Both were nice.

How come you got rid of it?

I'm actually sort of happy that I haven't been able to find one at MSRP. I've resisted buying one because the prices are crazy on Gunbroker. I really have no practical use for it. Saves me $1000 that I can't find one...
