Guns you own (9 Viewers)

Nice. Have you fired it yet?

I have a Taurus PT92 in stainless that I picked up last fall on a whim... beautiful pistol but I'm not as accurate with it as I am with my Walther or my Sig.

Cool! Have you tried changing the hammer spring? All my Berettas (92's) have D springs.

I haven't picked it up yet - looking forward to getting it either Friday or Saturday. The model I got doesn't have any of the mods/tune ups that Langdon is known for so I'm not expecting all that much from it. I figure I'll break it in and then maybe do a little light polishing if it doesn't run as good as my "beater" 92F...

Sorry to bump this, was intending to just add to my other post but couldn't find an Edit button?

W/ Holosun HE509T-GR X2 (green reticle/dot). Plan on putting some rounds through her next Tuesday morning...

I appreciate someone who likes a Beretta style but knows they are garbage so goes for the knockoff.

Edit: I’m obviously blind, because that is an actual Beretta.

And, I am, of course, just having some fun. Different strokes for different folks!

Great little summertime carry gun, I used to poo-poo the thought of 380 auto as a viable carry load. Also only 6+1 wasn’t enough - just in case. But in my 52 years all my shootouts have been settled in less than 0 shots. So I go for comfort now. Nicely pocket carries in shorts, can’t tell it’s there. It’s not the most accurate over 20’, but I’m not going for Elk today.

I have one of these but switched to the Springfield Armory 911. It isn't quite as snappy, has a better hand feel to me, and better sights. But I think the main thing for a carry gun is having something you will carry regardless of if it is a little .22 or a 6" barreled .44 mag

Definately not a winter time pistol, thick coats etc would be semi effective body armor for 380 auto, but effect for a tshirt and shorts in the summer. Don't expect to stop a raging meth head in their tracks though, shoot and run. For that you'll want a .45 or .357 + a recent meth head pt took 5rds of 9mm HP to the chest, he ran approx 3km from the scene after being hit. Makes sense that armies used meth in the past, but very dangerous for everyone now.

The ballistics for 45 and 9mm have been debated for years- 357 thru a 2" barrel is also diminished. I love 9mm, most common pistol calliber bullet in the world.

Shot placement. Meth don’t meth if it gets turned off.

The zombies in Houston are on a whole nother level... :wow:

(you can fast forward to 3:20 for the OIS)
Crazy how he got up after multiple hits. Spewing blood everywhere as he just calmly tried to walk away. That's one of the wildest things I've ever seen.

Its time to Cajunize

I'll trade my Omega for your decocker +100
Yeah, I probably should Cajunize. I have done some work on the SP-01, swapping out the firing pin block, and trigger roll pins with solid pins. I also changed out most of the springs with a kit from mcarbo. I didn't want any part of the sear cage, so I didn't change that spring. It made the double action trigger pull quite a bit lighter.

I'll hold on to the decocker. I also have a P-07 with the Omega trigger, and prefer the original.

If you read my post on doing a Cajun gun works upgrade on my SP01 - it only took me 4 attempts to get the sear cage put back in. I don’t know how I didn’t lose a spring or my mind. After 2 times it almost becomes funny…. Almost.

I couldn’t do the stock triggers- the curve bit into my finger - hated it

Just cuz I like when I open my night table drawer and these guys sites are shining in the dark.

Beautiful pieces. I've been looking to add another handgun, and been reading a bit about these. They seem like a great gun for reasonable money. I've always thought the next handgun I buy would be a 1911 in 45acp. But I do really like the looks of these. (very 1911ish)

So what is the difference between the P-01 and the SP-01, as well as the 75B and any other models that CZ sells? There seem to be quite a few.

Internally they are all very similar. In general, the 75 is the original design (Full size steel frame) the SP01 is a slightly updated version (full length dust cover with rail, slightly different grip) and the P01 is an aluminum framed compact that is essentially a smaller SP01.

I may be wrong, but I believe the SP-01 is a little heftier. I've owned a few CZ 75 variants. My favorite was the PCR, if you haven't looked into one of those. I doubt you would be disappointed in any of the variants.

Always buy a 1911. It's just the right thing to do.

there is a SP-01 model and a SP-01 Shadow (shadow 1). there is also a more competition specific design known as the Shadow 2 with a more refined grip receiver, heavier slide etc...

The SP-O1 shadow is the competution version of the spec force military configuration of the SP-01. the difference is mainly with the sights. The Shadow (one) version has fibre optic sights.....the military configuration SP-01 has all metal sights. otherwise the pistols as mostly the same. The standard pistol without any accessory attachments is the CZ75, the CZ75B is the standard pistol with metal military sights.

There are further competition versions and smaller more compact versions but as a Canadian I am only familiar with the full size pistols.

There was a CZ 85 in 45acp which was. a scaled up SP-01 Shadow but that model is discontinued.
https://cz-usa.com/ should give you info on current models.

If you’re wanting a .45 and kinda 1911ish…you want to find a CZ97B or 97BD. The B model is traditional DA/SA with thumb safety so it can be carried in your traditional cocked and locked (1911) configuration and the BD differs in that it has a decocker lever over a thumb safety. I have the 97B and it’s easily the softest shooting and most accurate .45 I’ve ever shot and I’ve had some real high end custom 1911’s.

The CZ97 is sadly now discontinued but they can be found with some diligence and patience. It’s one drawback is that the grip is huge…so if you have small or even medium sized mitts, it’ll probably not fit you well.

I’ll be your friend for life

Wise ass remark complete
Given how far apart we live, I'm not sure I could be that much help to you. As far as I understand what I can do with it. I am considering starting a small business to do transfers for local friends and family, and possibly do a little brokering. But you would still need another FFL on your end to receive anything from me.
