Harrah's New Orleans Cash.

Harrah's was located in the heart of New Orleans. It opened in 1999 and has since been rebranded to Caesar's New Orleans in 2024.

Harrah's chips featured various aspects of what makes New Orleans.... New Orleans, such as depictions of Jazz musicians and various Mardi Gras themes.

The chips were made by Paulson. The Secondary set of chips (which includes the $100, $500, $1000, $5000, $25,000, and $100,000) were acquired by and sold to the public by @TheChipRoom

The $100 and $500 are 39mm on a "Harrah's" house mold, using "giant" sized inlays.

The $1000 and $5000 are 43mm on an IHC mold using "giant" sized inlays.

The $25,000 and $100,000 are 48mm on a "Harrah's" house mold using "giant" sized inlays.

Portraits.

Here are some close up pics of the Alphadot in-chip security microprinting. This was submitted by sleepypiggly. Thank you!

The same text is microprinted in each each chip denomination.
It reads: PAUL*SON 1800546DICE

These are absolutely gorgeous. What would a set of these be worth or cost to buy? I'm in love.

I think it's pretty nutty that leaded mint spotted Paulsons can be had in massive quantities for $2/chip. It's even more nutty that I sold mine!

Is it just me or do these chips not have the regular strong Paulson smell (or any at all)? Just ordered a rack and a few barrels to check out and that was the first think I noticed.

My color commentary on the individual chip colors and inlays. (These are my opinions of what I think is going on with these chips. I have no idea of what the designer actually thought.) Feel free to reply with your own thoughts!

The $100 chip features a black base clay color, common to just about all $100 chips in the USA, outside of California.
The black base colors is contrasted heavily by the lighter spot colors Hawaii flower (a lavender color) and hot pink. It makes an overall dark color chip feel bright and lively.
The inlay features a lone musician playing a saxophone on an unknown street corner in the French Quarter of New Orleans. Set at night, the inlay continues the black color of the clay with a dark night sky with very small motes of twinkling starlight. The street light shines in the darkness, creating a silhouette of the musician.

The $500 chip base color is Lilac, a purple color. Purple, being a common color to most $500 chips in the USA outside of California. It's colon orange and daisy spot colors are frequent making the chip appear busy from the side, by using the 4TSA18 (Bear claw) spot pattern.
The inlay features the scene of a horse drawn carriage and driver, outside the fence of Jackson square. A tradition still enjoyed today by many tourists of New Orleans. The lavender background color continues the base clay color of the chip.

The $1000 chip features a blaze orange base color. Orange being a common base color of $1000 chips in the USA outside of California. The spot colors are light blue, yellow, and day green. And if you squint your eyes hard enough, you just might see that these spot colors are the Mardi Gras colors of purple, green, and gold. The clay colors make a very bright chip that radiates excitement.
This energy continues on the inlay that features the close-up look at a trumpet emitting jazz music in the form of the afore mentioned Mardi Gras colors.

1000003901-jpg.1438614

The $5000 chip features a grey base color. Grey being the common color for $5000 chips in the USA outside of California and Nevada. The spot colors gold and forest green add an air or regality to the chip.
The inlay features a New Orleans second line parade with confetti and streamers flowing about the revelry.
This is the only chip to feature the Harrah's logo and the denomination at an angle to each other.
1000003903-jpg.1438615

The $25,000 chip features a blue base color. Blue being the common base color for $25,000 chips outside of California and Nevada. The green and orange spot colors bring back the excitement of celebration.
The inlay features the main motifs of other denominations, including a feathered Mardi Gras mask from the $1 chip, a jester from the $2.50 chip and a trio of Jazz musicians from the $25 chip. It also features the Comedy/Tragedy masks of theatre, which was not featured on any other chip.
This chip is the only chip in the secondary set to not feature the denomination in a gold color.
1000003905-jpg.1438616

The $100,000 chip has a base color of metallic gold, reenforcing the value of the chip. Gold, also being one of the three colors of Mardi Gras. (There is no common base color for $100,000 chips.) The purple (blurple) (another color of Mardi Gras) and lavender (Hawaii flower) spots are large and bring back an air of regality. I would like to note that the primary version of the $100,000 chip did feature all the Mardi Gras colors in its spots.
The inlay of the chip continues the golden motif and a fleur de lis, representing New Orleans' French heritage.

Based on online research, $1-$1k are confirmed primary and I’d like to know what $5k they used.

@Carnth I think you should start looking for what kind of chips casino have in their dealer tray. I’ve never seen on my hands but saw some tables had up to $25k in Vegas
