Harrahs New Orleans NCV THC chip sale (3 Viewers)

Is there a good brand of cleaner to look for ?
 
Okay, my 10l US arrived today! Did a quick test with a couple of barrels using Sodium Tripholyphosphate (STPP) that I have for laundry boosting and a squirt of dishsoap. I think it worked great and don't notice any fading at all, but it took a bit longer than it probably needed to. I'll have to get some distilled water before I get down to business.

Everyone keeps talking about TSP and sodium metasilicate but I haven't seen any reference to STPP. Has anyone used it before? It seems to work okay in my quick test and it doesn't burn my skin like I hear sodium metasilicate does.

I've also cleaned my Harrah's set with an ultra sonic.
Because I'm lazy.

If you don't know what you're doing, an ultra sonic can take your hot stamps off.

The first time I used an ultra sonic on hot stamps, I "cleaned" half of the hot stamps right off. Thankfully, it was a beat up roulette set and didn't matter that much. But it did make them clean, but look like they aged 20 years in the casino.

My advice about using an ultra sonic on hot stamps:
If you've never used an ultra sonic to clean any chips, hot stamps are not the time to learn. Clean 10 to 20 racks of inlayed chips first, to get a feel for the whole ultra sonic "thing." Yes, 10 to 20 racks.
Read the crap out of the cleaning threads (like the one linked). Get the info, learn from others mistakes. Then try it on inlays first.
Oil your chips after (also discussed in the linked articles).
The entire idea is to take time now to learn, and get everything right so you save time during the tedious chip cleaning.

Ultra can take a damaged hot stamp and remove the rest. Generally if it's in solid shape, it won't do much. But you'll see glitter in the water and know some foil is coming off.
