Dang, these are beautiful, what do you clean them with?
Unicorn blood :).

Just water with a little bit of Oxy, and then use a magic eraser dipped in the water/Oxy solution to clean the chip edges a barrel at a time. Then cover hot stamp with thumb and clean the face of the chip with the magic eraser. The dirt is pretty surface level and comes off easily which is nice.

I'll try that. I recently got some gold starbursts, and it is pretty dirty, I tried the magic eraser with dish soaps, but there still are black stains on them. I'll get some Oxy and try it then.

I know the challenges of cleaning hot stamps carefully. You seem to be doing fine. But if you want to try anything else, that Sterling’s Magic pink cream does a great job with no damage or discoloration nor does it dry out the clay.

I have some and have used it before on hot stamps that were sensitive to Oxy, and that was the backup plan here. I experimented on the T25s first because I have quite a few extras and if something was going to get damaged those were going to be my least painful option. The one downside I found with Sterling’s (maybe this was just a me problem lol) is that it seems to dry the F out of the chip. Of course you can then oil, but I felt like it took a few oil efforts to get it back to normal. But that was just my experience, curious whether you had a similar experience in terms of drying out the chip.

No credit huh. I see how it is.

Did you want some?? I figured you like to be a quiet, behind the scenes guy lol :)

Mad credit and props to @Josh Kifer for walking me through hot stamp cleaning!! Pretty sure you thought I was gonna fuck it up though, I didn’t sense a lot of faith on your end lol.

Love you.

In my experience, it was just the opposite. I was using it to clean Crystal Palace leaded THC hot stamps. My initial impressions were that it noticibly DID NOT dry out the chips. But I ended up selling them before I even got them all cleaned. If if it’s a long term effect, I could have missed it. But in the short term they seemed perfect.

"What in the world are you doing????"

(Look at her like it's the most obvious thing in the world.) "Shooting some pr0n."

When I got to the part where it said I’ll get some lights, . . . my camera . . . my wife I really had no idea where this post was heading and I was ready for pretty much anything at that point . . .

May I ask what dilution oxy to water, please?
I want to try on cancellation marks… I hope it works…

I’m really bad at math and when I cook I don’t measure anything, so I’d say it’s somewhere between a relatively small amount and I have no fucking clue lol. But for what it’s worth the expert @Josh Kifer advised me to make it a relatively weak Oxy solution. For the Harrahs chips it really didn’t take much Oxy, the dirt is dark but very much surface level. But with cancelation marks I’m guessing you’re gonna need a stronger solution and from I hear you’ll need way more elbow grease. I’ve never had to remove cancelation stamps so hopefully someone who has can chime in.

I use the Sterlings a lot (I bought a 1/2 gallon jug - lol).

I have not found that it dries the chips any worse then dawn or any other mild dish soap.

I’ve cleaned thousands of chips with it, it’s my goto for anything I can’t put in the U.S. cleaner. (Also use the magic eraser on the edges a barrel at a time)

Haha alright… yeah I should have been more clear it’s the stupid marker they use on the edges that seems to bleed deep into the clay…
I’m hoping the oxi might be able to clean it…

Be careful with oxiclean - it will fade colors
The question is would you rather have some fading Or have to shave the edges until the mark is gone…

Um, I’d have to see the specifics. But if those are the only two options, I’d probably stick with the dirt.

I'm familiar with point-shaving but I have to admit I'm not familiar with chip-shaving
