First of all, wow! I had no idea such an community of casino chip aficionados existed. I've always loved the look, feel and sound of chips and consider myself more of an admirer than a collector... but you all may change my mind. Whether they are custom made or come from a gaming room, every chip tells a story and I think that's pretty cool.
Right now I'm in information collecting mode - trying to learn what the words mean (I won't ask who TINA is) and the state of the hobby. If there are any especially helpful threads, let me know, otherwise I'll keep searching/browsing.
As for my own journey, I've only ever bought one set of chips (photo below). This must have been 20 years ago when buying from sketchy internet vendors was even more sketchy. I don't know much about them, but like how they are simple and clean. Sadly I'm missing one black and one green. Maybe they'll turn up in a sofa cushion.
