Help Me Design the Best Dice Chips Money Can Buy (1 Viewer)

If you have complete design control now, have you thought of doing non cpc spots?

I don't necessarily have complete control, but something close.

I'm cool with doing any kind of spots. I'm just limited in my ability to mock them up because the CT chip designer which has more spots looks like beta max garbage next to the nasa-like precision of the new CPC/J5/PCF chip designer.

Plus the spot combos here cover the vast majority of those available and I want to keep it relatively straightforward, so I'm not sure what I'm really missing.

But by all means - if you have some ideas, I'd love to see them.

4v418 is a nice spot pattern. Half moons. 8v.

If you're doing ceramic, there's no upcharge for spot levels.

Well the representation of the "spot pattern" on the chip will be pretty simple. There "spot" won't go all the way to the edge, just will have a shape along the outer ring of the chip, then a gap, then the start of the rolling edge. So the impact of some of those spots won't be quite as noticeable I wouldn't think.

Plus they can be pretty closely represented by a CPC version of the spot with just a note to say that, for instance, the 814 represented should really be 8V on the actual chip.

But like I said - definitely interested in seeing any ideas. Just about to start work with a designer to get something ironed out.

Spot pattern to look very similar in style to @CraigT78's Windy Crest tourney set as seen in this thread.

drop P5woody a message as I think he did Craigt78's design. He did some ceramic designs for me that I hope to produce later this fall, and I feel he has a great vision when it comes to ceramics.

Thanks! I've got a designer who may or may not be able to do it, so if she can't, p5 is definitely my man (if he can fit me in, of course). Those Windy Crest chips look really, really great.

You could also use the matsui chip creation tool and see if you can design anything. IIRC they have some designs that would translate well to a face only design

Appreciate all the suggestions, guys. I think I'm with @Psypher1000 on needing to stick with 1/8" and 1/6" spots rather than going with 1/4" spots on the $5. And with courage on adding tiger to the $25.

So with those changes:

i like this one a lot. maybe the hundo uses lavender or retro lav instead of yellow, but either way looks good.

What ceramic samples have The "-----" Club seen?

If not many,
Maybe some good ceramic samples should be shown to the Club.

Edit: And some horrible ceramics shown

Quick update:

I sent the above colors/spots with a few other thoughts to the designer with instructions to disregard or alter any of my suggestions for the overall good of the design.

There's a chance I may try the Diamond Club "tribute" spots as well after the design process is moving along depending on how things go. Thanks to everyone's thoughts in this thread.

Don't want to start a new thread just to poll it, but would love to hear a lot of responses as to which you guys prefer between the below two options.

When you decide between them, assume that small changes can be made to the specific colors. I'm looking more for opinions between using multiple different "spot" designs and using one uniform design throughout the set.

Thanks again to everyone providing input!

If you are going for a "Dice Chip" look - hands down the bottom row. Dice chips don't have alternating spot patterns.

Overall I like the bottom row better. Only problem may be convincing that crew that a light blue dollar isn't Satan's spawn.

Bottom row is better.

If you were trying to keep it "Dicey" then have the 25 and 100 with white in the edge spots.

Personal preference = top.

Dicey/standard look = bottom.

If you go with the bottom, you might take a look at putting the pink stripe in the middle of the white and black so that it's surrounded by contrasting colors. It may not work for you once you mock it up, but it's at least worth a look-see.

EDIT: I like the darker blue base you went with in post 57.

A little something like?

Or maybe a brighter blue base with darker blue spot?

I like the light blue one better, but the dg peacock is nice too. I personally like brighter colors, that's why I have maroon instead of black on the 5, dg arc yellow on the 25, and lavender instead of charcoal on the hundo, but that's just personal preference. Your set is a little darker, so maybe the peacock fits in better with that. Either way, it shaping up to be real nice.

I like the top row much better. I like that the spots are different across the denoms, and also prefer the spots and colors on the 1$ and 5$ and 25$ on the top row compared to all the bottom ones in general.
