Help me figure out what I have to prep for sale (dunes, DP, empress) (1 Viewer)

Hi Folks

Been out of the chip prOn thing for a while and cleaning up what I have. I suppose I would normally just list on CL or post a classified, but I haven't been on here much (bit more on CT before this opened up)...had twins, been busy, etc.

I'm going to sell off a few chips and need to make sure I advertise correct. Any advice on price would be appreciated, but I understand that may not be appropriate.

Here's a pic of the Dunes and Desert Palms Cash set / chips:

I ordered some new ones from chiproom to round out the set a while back, and they came in different shades and, in some cases, different heights. I have not oiled them yet.

I also have some new $25's that are the same as the other new ones (lighter / chalkier):

That's it for the Dunes. From my reading, these are Compression Molded, but different generations, hence the differences? Should I sell them together as a set?

I also have some old Desert Palms that I imagine aren't worth much. Just throw them in? There are definitely 2 versions of the .10. The .05's are all the same.

I also have about 40 empress canary yellow roulettes, 130 Chocolate Empress roulettes, and 100 salmon. Guesses on pricing assuming good condition? Let me know if I should add pics for those too.

Dunes china clays will probably sell for between 25c-35c each, depending upon how motivated the buyer and if the set is a decent breakdown. I'd sell the two versions separately, with the option of combining them for one buyer.

Desert Palm china clays worth about 25c-30c, and about 15c-20c if the injection-molded plastic version.

The roulette chips will vary based on condition and color. Yellow, chocolate, and salmon are popular colors, so 50c-75c if dirty/used, and $1-$1.25 if mint/excellent condition.

Thank you. Are you saying my older dunes are 'China clay' or impression molded? Or am I confused?

All of your Dunes chips are china clays, The color/height differences are due to different batch runs. China clays are not true 'compression-molded', regardless of the sales hype.

From the pictures, it also appears that your Desert Palm chips are the china clay version.
