I'm a bit concerned with flea bites with people throwing the chips around on a craps table, and we do tend to tap the chips as dealers do when they are "re-upping" a bet. On the other hand, screw it, not gonna baby the chips or ask my friends to either. It's part of the charm of playing craps to toss chips around.

I honestly cannot wait to put my chips into play. Covid has given me an opportunity to build an awesome set that is so close to being done. My group is going to be shocked (or completely ignorant/indifferent
) when I show them what I have made.In terms of durability, the chips themselves are going to hold up very well if they are handled with relative care. There may be some slight wear, but I think breaking them in (like a new glove, pair of skates, pads etc.) will be part of the fun.

New chips will hold up pretty well, but that's where the used chips in the sale and the new chips in the sale are a night and day difference.
The casino used chips, aside from needing a good cleaning, will also be fairly well worn. Horseshoe SI is a natably busy casino, and the used chips have thousands of hours of live play on them.
Of course, they are still nice chips. Anyone looking for a discount route, or is finishing out a set with other casino worn chips, would do well to get these. The price difference between the new and the used is very fair.

Touché - Being an empiricist, I'll modify my verbiage from none to few and I'll clarify my term "use" to mean "put into play" since from what I have seen so far on this site is "minty", "never felted", and numerous "photo shoots" but little to nothing about chips being used. I was half expecting an argument about how the photons from the flash damage RHC chips
My philosophy is buy them, use them, when the wear out, buy new ones (I'll be sick of them by then anyway).
Depends how far past their prime your previous ones are. I am able to break mine in fast usually, but I'm also a goalie, play a decent amount, sharpen my own etc.
Regardless, my point is that once a new pair is broken in, the feeling of having/using that new and improved equipment is fantastic. I get that my analogy was pretty shitty looking back on it though. I am just giddy to get my chips into play is all.

Yeah my last pair I could flex my toes and the entire boot would move. But with Easton no longer in existence I was hesitant to change as I had been using those for probably 20 yrs.

I played as a kid out here in Los Angeles, I worked at the Practice rink they built for The Kings when Gretzky came to L.A. it was amazing to watch them practice, I got to take their lunch orders and deliver food to them. I was about 15yo... all great guys. Legendary team.
The way we dealt with new skates out here was to lace them on as tight as humanly possible, then put our feet and skates into the Hot jacuzzi, tightening them more and more as they formed. Then wear them around all night with guards until they cooled down.
I wish I still had my 3000’s... favorite skates of all time.

Secondary 100’s looks better than expected in stacks. People should be able to make some good custom RHC sets with all the mint chips out there.

I like the black hundos better - would it be sacrilege to get a secondary set $1/$5/$25/$500 but put in the primary hundo?

If you can get the unused primary $100s I don't see any problem with that. Agree that it is much better looking then the coffee hundo.
Now if you get the mint secondaries with the used $100s, that might not be a good match.

Easy fix, use the primary $500 and secondary $1k That way you duplicate the spot pattern on the $25/$100 and the $500/$1000, and repeating spots is more prevalent in tournament chips (if you're using these for a tournament set - which on re-read it looks like a cash set).
