Was comparing colors between other samples I have (which isn't a lot), figured I'd share these as well in case they help anyone:

As far as what I'd like to build, a cash set to pull double duty on the craps table, and a relabel T25 base tourney set:

Snapper as frac, quarter as $1, primaries 5-500, sec 1k and 5k, primary 25k. It's honestly a coin flip between the 5k chips for me, I'd prefer blaze orange over grey. Don't like the pumpkin 1k chip at all surprisingly.
Backups are the bottom chip. Prefer blue for $1 but if quarters aren't available oh well. I actually wish the secondary 1k was a 39mm chip in a more available denom so I could get a good quantity to use as T1000, because in reality I doubt I get any of the IHC chips in enough quantity to use in a tourney set. I don't love the brown $100 as T1000, but the secondary $25 I think would be a great T5000.

Never thought I’d see the day. Man I hate these plastic things so much; I’ve never locked a chip up in one.
but this gold $25k is kinda special. Just a very very cool card protector. And I know how paulson metallic chips age and handle wear - badly.
Sorry friend, I think you’re stuck in here for your own good.

Got my shipment today too. Anybody else have a ton of scratches on a bunch of those inlays?

I guess that depends on what people mean buy "a bunch."
My primary $1K and $5K are certainly a mess. But I didn't study them all.

A $500 had some scratches. One $1000 had perfect edges, but straight inlay "scratches". So it sat in the dealer tray, unused, but got rack checked a few times. A $5000 chip was similar to the $1000. Perfect edges, or close, just a *hint* of hooker juice, and a few inlay scratches.

Hey @natumes - thanks for the pics.
The tertiary $1 looks brighter than the others, is that just as it's all new and shiny? And it's the same base colour as the Isle and primary? I think I read the secondary is off-white which makes sense too.
Thanks.

Do tell, what happens diff than any other Paulson?

They get grey-ish / dull....I had some silver PCA roulettes...HEAVY as fuck but very worn (looked liked burned solder)

That's why I would NEVER choose silver or gold for base or spot color

There were no new primary 1k and 5k chips so I wouldn't expect those to be perfect.

Turns out I like the small inlay chips better than I thought I would, but not sure if it is enough to pull the trigger on them. The colors that I thought would pop in person and that I liked from pictures really do (P-$500, S-$5, $25, $100). If able and DOP I am thinking I may do a murder/relabel and make a tournament set, with the aforementioned denominations and use the S-$100 and S-$5 as a T1000 and T5000, respectively. Not sure if the $5 would flow there, but I just love the chip and would want to have/use it. Lot's to think about and whether or not that is worth it.

Whoops, meant to put this in the mail pr0n thread...

Source to buy 43mm protectors?
I don’t even know if they exist. The one I have is just one I received a chip in. There was a 39mm chip in there with a protective ring of foam around it. When I pulled out the foam, the thing is probably like 47mm or something?

These are on Spinnettis:

I just found some (after searching threads here) at:

https://www.lighthouse.us/coin-capsules.html

You can specify interior diameter; 10-packs only. I ordered 43mm and 44mm since the shipping costs more than the items.

They seem to have lots of other styles, some with foam.

Jp's corner is the best for air tites. They have tons of them in different sizes. I'll find you a link for the 43mm. I wouldn't waste your time on anyone else.

I always use direct fit airtites. I have some that have the ring but I prefer the direct fit.

These are the direct fit for 43mm https://www.jpscorner.com/collectio...coin-holders/products/direct-fit-air-tite-x43

These are the direct fit for 39mm https://www.jpscorner.com/collectio...coin-holders/products/direct-fit-air-tite-h39

Those are what I prefer but they have different ones available as well.
This is one of those posts that belongs in the resource section. I know I'm going to need it someday.

JPSCORNER for the win. Most other places are more expensive from the start, JP’s gets pretty cheap the more you buy.

So after looking at them for a bit I'm kinda torn. I feel like if you're looking to build a set you have to limit yourself to not considering the 43mm chips. They're going to be so limited you're looking at barrel maybe?

I don't like the off-white $1 at all. In person with the purplish spot it almost make the whole chip take on a purple color, or it just looks like a dirty white $1 so not a fan. I also feel like you can't pair the secondary 25 and the primary 500 even though I love them both. Snappers are useless to me other than a relabel as a frac so they're not in my top couple choices.

This is my preferred lineup

This one I also like, basically just swapping the 500's and 25's.
20200829_104554.jpg

In a world where I could get any chips I wanted outside the 43mm? I dig this lineup but I'd be afraid of getting enough fracs to make $1's and snappers to turn into fracs

This is my terrible opinion.
