Most (but not all) home poker tables I've looked at have the Flop, Turn and River placings in the center. Most (but not all) custom table toppers appear to move away from that and leave it blank or place the poker room name there instead. So, I was all ready to submit my design for a topper when my crew said, "You're not getting rid of the card places are you? We actually like that." [insert facepalm emoji]

What is your preference?

They’ll learn to live without it. It’s nothing but a distraction that also happens to make your table look like it came from Walmart or Amazon. Nothing wrong with that if you’re buying something “off the rack,” but to use them in a custom design would be WILD, in my opinion.

But also… do whatever you want.

I like the idea of matching felt to chips. In most games I go to, we just place the cards where active players can see. And it moves depending on the action. We will move the cards closer to one side if that's where the active hands are located. Not far, but let's say like a quarter of the way over. Usually it's to reduce glare when someone is staring down the full length of the table.

All votes going to two categories. But both categories could be occuring at same time.
I actually used a mix of both on my custom design for my table build...

I deliberately made sure that the icons used were shaded so that the pictures didn't steal the show from the poker chips.

I really love how it turns out finally...
