A few months ago my chip collection surpassed the 5000 piece milestone. I understand around here those are "rookie numbers" but I would love to find out what the average is.

I realize @Benjaminotaur just created a similar thread but I'm looking for the sum total. Sets, singles, plaques, jetons you name it...

Between my Paulson and CPC sets and random racks, I've got +/- 10,000 chips atm, which is the most I've had at any given point until now. Frankly, it's way more than I need.

I'd also be curious what the make-up of people's collections are. I'd imagine a lot of collections have exploded in size with the influx of cheap custom Chinese ceramics over the past few years.

I think I got a good mixture of different chips

Total Chips about 12,000+

Premium Clays about 6,700
Casino-Grade Plastics about 3,000
Ceramics about 2,000
Mixed Samples about 200-300

I do agreed that’s too many chips than I will ever need them, I used to own way more Tina ceramic but since then sold off 3 sets as they don’t hold up that well after extensive usage.

One of my friends have been hosting at least 1-2 time weekly with the Tina chips for about 1 year now and about 40% to half his chips have spinners

I love how you've merged your love for HT together with your love for chip collecting. (I'm a Paradigm/Velodyne man myself.) I wonder if I can achieve such approval from the wife. I salute you.

I didn’t realize how many I had until trying to figure it up. Way too many than I need. As I sit at my work desk right now, I count over 4,000 chips sitting on my desk. And all my sets are actually down stairs. So, just doing the math in my head, it’s north of 25k chips.

I have a broad mixture of sets: THC, RHC, ASM, CPC multiple molds, 36mm, Bud Jones, Sun Fly, Tina’s, China clay 8vs, and NexGen lucky bees.

I am missing a few manufactures, but the one that sticks out to me is TRK.

I have to say my first thought was “do Tina and NAGBT chips count?”
Those kind of blow the “how many” metric out of the water.
You may as well ask how many grains of dirt do people own, lol

I currently have an almost equal number of CPC and Tina chips. Took me 4 years to create and accumulate my CPC sets. Took me 9 months to amass an equivalent number of Tina chips.

So yes, grains of dirt... sounds about right lol

I’m down to one 800 chip set, and I’m maybe 150-200 chips into a project set. That’s it. I guess I’m a PCF fail.
I’ve probably owned around 20,000 chips over the years, but never more than 2 or 3K at any given time.
More like PCF retiree.

Previous attachment fail.
