So I’m quite new about 6 months into running my own home games. I got a set of faded spade cards and was wondering if other decks are actually that much better. After watching stuff on hobby fillip it seams like that guy has tons of different decks and I wasn’t sure if there was that significant of a difference.
I like the way plastic cards stay nice. I ran my first few nights with just bicycle cards and it was crazy that they started sticking before the night was over.

I hate faded spade's marketing, but as far as their 3.0 product goes - it's fine. It's a decent plastic card, probably average at worst.
As to how much better it gets, that's subjective, depending on whether you like thick or thin, flexy or stiff, and what kind of texture you like.

All that said, they're overpriced. You can get more for less, because with faded spade you're paying for their marketing.

I really like faded spades artwork and I never minded the stiffness when shuffling. (Some people hate the stiffness)

My problem was(is) that every deck I’ve purchased had a card separate from its backing. All 3 decks did the same thing. I hear FS will replace your bad card for free but that seems like such a hassle.

I’ve never had any other high end plastic card split on me. I won’t buy them again that’s for sure.

I just received the two packages I ordered in four colors. The cards are very thick in my opinion. I like the look but I'm honestly disappointed that they are hard to blend. I won't buy any more. I like Fournier because I think they blend well and are soft. In addition, Modiano Platinum are good. I paid a heavy price for these including customs. I hope they even last a long time.

It’s really preference at this point. Better is subjective to the person. What do you like or not like about faded spades? Telling us what you prefer can help us figure out if other cards would be a better fit for you.

lol what do you hate so much about their marketing? lol

So here is the question are these Faded Spades the first and only plastic cards you have played with?

When I first tried out plastic cards it was amazing, especially compared the regular bicycles. That said My first were da vinci and yes they got so much better. My personal favorite (and the favorites of my group) are the Desjn 4 color bridge setup. They feel great, shuffle well, and we like the 4 colors for absolute clarity when we play.

To be honest I’m not quite sure they are the first plastic cards I’ve used. I think they are far easier to shuffle than the paper bicycle cards. I think they may be a bit thick howeve I like the stiffness. I think my favorite part is the art work tho. I love the modern esthetic and that’s the only thing that I can realy compare to other decks I’ve used.

But you don’t sell the steak. You sell the sizzle.
You might. I’m not interested in anybody selling me anything. And I’m definitely capable of deciding on a deck of cards myself. So faded space can go shit in their hat.

Right now I am loving Broken Arrow after being a Copag fan bc they feel good when shuffling. Also dig the artwork. I like the artwork of the 4 color FS but can't really say much more about them.

Not sure if this will be helpful to you, but I found it interesting to peruse and a good reference.

If you like thick you can give Da Vinci a try. If you want to try something softer I would go with Desjgn. FS does have really nice designs. I’d say the art work isn’t as great in the two that I suggested.

I think Faded Spade are best in the shuffler, not so comfortable in the hand. Learn to shuffle right and any deck can be good.
Their marketing machine is pure barf.

I really love the design of faded spades but it's a shame they are so stiff. Perhaps the 4.0 will revise their thickness.

I just got them (the new Faded Spade X version) yesterday and opened them. Not a fan. They feel like paper cards and shuffle not that great. Very stiff. I agree with @redrobin, I love the design, and the way the face cards look. But I love my Broken Arrow cards much more by @justincarothers those were only $8 a set up, compared to these at $30 a setup.
