Yes, I believe you are right. This has been my hypothesis all along.

I just got them (the new Faded Spade X version) yesterday and opened them. Not a fan. They feel like paper cards and shuffle not that great. Very stiff. I agree with @redrobin, I love the design, and the way the face cards look. But I love my Broken Arrow cards much more by @justincarothers those were only $8 a set up, compared to these at $30 a setup.

Let me know if you're gonna throw them out, I was curious but didn't want to pay $35.

No, I have a shuffler, so the fact others said it is good for the shuffler, I'm going to try out in that. If they don't work, I'll give em away. You have first dibs.

Too generous, I'll still pay, I'm just enabling my own card addiction haha.

I've heard the same, my players love the art and feel of them until they have to use some muscle to shuffle em.

One good thing I will say about Faded Spade is the ink is stable and doesn't seem to run or fade easily as say, COPAG.
