Alright experts. Did he just picture AK or 98? Whats going on?!
Not expert but my guess on Handz thought process: overbet turn and river is really polar, probably too polar to be a set (straight or nothing), so the best calls would be something blocking the straight. QQ unblocks the straights so not a good call candidate. Undoubtedly the real experts will solve and break down soon, curious if they think it’s a good fold or not.

It's either 89 or AK or nothing. This hand would have played out differently if Handz didn't check back flop and didn't let Rampage take the lead in betting. I agree with @SpaceMonkey420 here. Raise the flop. Handz was already super underrepresented

Anyone have a good picture of the $10k plaques? They seem different from the ones I’ve seen pictures of.

Picture I’ve seen:

I think it might be the Plaques used two different pic for both side

That Wesley guy better watch his mouth. I know plenty of people that would have ground him.into the dirt with that mother comment.
I always disliked him for being an arrogant and rude person

Showboating buying in for 3million but playing tighter than even tony g on day 1, no wonder everyone is gunning for him and shaming him

From the few hours I watch so far, PAV is a nice new addition to the line out

HCL should definitely invite him back for Day 4

Huss despite being loud is a wonderful player to see as well, I wonder if the stream Day 2/3 will be as dead as Day 1 If not for him

also I have the mixed impression on Rob Yong, keep telling everyone on interview how he think everyone is the nicest guy and also at the same time berating people for awful plays and being a nit.

If only Rob played today as well, will love to see what he had to say about Wesley the fold artist

*edited* I just saw the part that Rob did make a appearance after all, tot he can’t make it today since it almost been half the steam gone

must be that the lineup fell through….even tomorrow is only 6 and that’s with late addition tom dwan.

They are making a documentary on how they put this game together…if it’s transparent and willing to show a real look at behind the scenes (even making some look bad if that’s how it is) then it should be fantastic.

I’m guessing the game ran for a while post-stream, so Airball, Wes, and Hanz were all too tired to be on stream again.

That said, this combined with Saturday’s $500K buyins (even though the game was better than Friday) are big fails for HCL. They just set the concurrent viewership record though, so they probably don’t care.

Yeah, unfortunately I can’t see that happening. Games like these depend on VIPs and they won’t include anything that speaks badly towards anyone’s name/reputation because it kills future action from said people (or makes the others worried this could happen to them in the future). It will likely just be an extended ad for the show… which could still be interesting I suppose.

If he’s going to trap pre that’s fine but IMO Qq should raise the flop to see where he is at.
This is an old school way to think about spots. Making bets to find out where you are is not a good idea. If you raise and aren't happy when called or raised back, then what was the point? All you did then was turn your value hand into a bluff as all better continues and all worse folds.

Because of how Handz played this pre, he can't credibly represent any strong value hands here. But Rampage is uncapped and can have all the AK. For Rampage to x/r this flop, it's either a bluff or a straight as he he would lead most sets and two pair. He actually probably leads AK more often than not since it unblocks all the value from both villains.

When your opponent is repping nuts or nothing this deep, raising makes little sense. You want to keep the bluffs in, especially when you have position, and limit your loss against the nuts.

And then, as played, Handz definitely can't raise turn as Rampage would likely never bet 2 pair or a set on turn after someone calls a check raise cold that can have all the K9s and 89s.

Airball is such a knob. He can be obnoxious to make things interesting but socially speaking, he’s next to useless.

wow. super long tank from dwan on turn and on river. lets hope this isn't the theme for the whole show.

toms comment of being 1000bb deep shows the problem of a million dollar buying with the stakes being "relatively" low.
He originally says his river tank was deciding to shove or not, but then goes on to explain that the clock was called on him on the turn so he wasnt going to be courteous and wanted to make him wait. Pretty much admitting it was him being vindictive and slowrolling is how I read that.

As well he should. Who calls clock after 2 minutes on the turn in a million dollar game?

Don't care, you've been a pro for decades, dont purposefully slow the game down as a lil tantrum. Not sure if you're okay with the vindictiveness or just being your usual contrarian self lol.

Yeah I’m fine with the vindictiveness. It’s not something that I would do, but that was a weird, quick clock call, so I thought doug had it coming. I was actually rooting for a longer river tank, which we got.
