I even offered to send him two decks of cards from the matching casino to go with his set for FREE

I have nits to pick with how both @davin and @luv2breformed have behaved here as well as many of the posters in this thread. But I'm sure some of you can pick some nits with me :-)

For the record . . . I have, and will continue, to do business with both of these guys. They have both earned my trust and I see no reason that should change over what I consider to be minor missteps. Y'all can do whatevs.

Well, I was still hoping to hear back from the eBay seller first before I committed fully, but it seems time is working against me. I would like to state first off that I never meant to crucify davin. In fact, even to this point I think he's probably a decent guy. I was genuinely concerned about what to do and didn't know where to turn, so I turned here.

Something that I think is very important here is not simply if these are the same chips, but also how these chips came to be in my hands. IF they were stolen, I feel some obligation. IF they were procured legally, I feel free and clear.

After everything, IF the eBay seller responds back and is legit then I will be confident that these chips came to them legally, and then to me legally. I will be keeping all of them. IF the seller seems super shady, then I would want to probably dig a little deeper and found out more information. At this point, with all of the information I have I am strongly in the camp of keeping them.

I also want to add that I thank EVERYONE for the enormous amount of support and even-handedness throughout this process, BOTH in thread and in PM. I hold no grudges or ill will to ANYONE here! I was seriously considering leaving this community when I started this thread. Now I want to state very clearly that I will be sticking around and happy to do so.

Also, I have stated many times that I want to do the RIGHT thing in this situation, not merely the legal thing. In this situation if the seller got the chips legally (at auction or something) and I just purchased them from them, I genuinely feel that the RIGHT thing is to keep them. I do not feel that I should be on the hook for either what would amount to shipping incompetence or shipping insurance. That said, I feel for davin and his friend in this situation, I really do.

This post is bunch of malarkey - not sure what you have against Davin, but calling him a lier for the $100 that was put on the customs form for a shipment that he was on the receiving end of is quite the stretch.

I do not have anything against Davin. It just struck me as an inconsistency.

You are correct that he has no control over what someone else puts on the forms..it's simply something I would have expected them to discuss and confirm prior to shipping, so I assumed he was aware of it.

I apologize for letting that assumption lead me to an incorrect conclusion.

And so, you were lying previously in your PMs, and now.... right. :banghead:
WTF are you Davin haters smoking? Seriously - this thread has me changing my opinion about participating in this "community" - I think a lot of you should personally be ashamed of yourselves. What are we, 12?

Curious, do you think Davin should "personally be ashamed" of the way he has behaved?

Just keep in mind everyone I brought these chips into this community for a very fare reasonable price, to be bashed this way is hurtful and I lay this to rest, ive told tanner to do as he pleases with the chips, our loss is his gain!!! Please stop bashing me as I take things very personally!!! Comments like the one @Venturalvn has made on someone else’s for sale ads really tick me off.

You brought these chips into the community for what people would pay and for what you could profit. You even tried to extort $100 from me to try to get yourself more money for them. You wrote, "our loss is his gain!!!" Did you really mean, "my lost profit is his gain?"

You act like Davin got these chips for free, or you know what he purchased them for - if you do, please speak up. If you don't, then stop acting all high and mighty that you know what kind of profit, if any, Davin would have made on these chips, and that somehow selling chips for a profit makes Davin a bad guy. Davin and/or his partner in buying these chips are out their investment in the 1000 chips they lost - there is no doubt about that. That is their "loss." Its not really fair to make it seem like Davin is a villain for selling these chips, or any chips for that matter, for a profit (cough Boat chips cough).

Now I'm confused. Why does what @davin had planned for these chips have to do with anything? It's completely irrelevant. I'm on the side that LUV shouldn't be returning them but harboring that belief simply because Davin is a flipper? Well, that's bullshit.
If they can be proven without a doubt to be stolen or what-have-you then they should absolutely be returned. But I don't think that proof is even obtainable.

I don't think anyone thinks Davin is a bad guy for his profit margins. This whole thing is now on the point that there was a feeling that Davin initially lost out on something of value, as if they were an heirloom or his personal stash, and that Luv should return them in those merits.

After 20 pages of deceit, misinformation, absence of information, aggressive PMing, and bad vibes, it's now clear that Davin lost out of nothing but more profit, and that this boils down to a lack of proper customs forms and adequate or any insurance.

If Luv had unknowingly taken up a family heirloom or part of someone's personal set, the tone would be how it was at the beginning of this thread. But now that we know he lost nothing of immediate value and is only goinf to resell these for practically free, the tone has shifted to the idea that Luv got a killer deal on a great set of chips, and Davin and his business partner have learned a valuable lesson of insuring your business product.

I believe Davin himself said he was not out a single penny on these chips.

Why don’t you answer the question I asked of you about Davin’s behavior? It seems you totally let that go by, which I completely understand if I was in your position.

Sorry, I missed your other question directed toward me, and happy to continue this discussion via PM as opposed to this toilet of a thread if you would like. I will say there are different shades of grey, and I am sure both parties (Davin and luv) would have done things differently if they could go back in time.

I am having trouble following your logic. Are you suggesting that obtaining stolen merchandise is legal if you or someone else purchased said item(s) from a seller who innocently acquired them through an (auction or something)?

I don’t care about @davin flipping chips. I’ve done it. I don’t care about what kind of profit he makes. I’ve done that too

I care about how he has conducted himself in this thread. I’m talking about the character he’s portrayed himself. I’d just rather not do business with someone like that regardless of whether it’s a good deal or not.

Yo, that doesn't make these chips stolen. There's not even any proof that they are same chips that are theoretically still in Customs but missing (according to USPS).
