If you could go back in time and meet yourself on the day that you got into chipping what advice would you give yourself?

Obviously “get samples” is a given as is “don’t get married” but what else?

I would probably tell myself to just cut to the chase and order a CPC limit set from the get go!!

I should have been more aggressive chasing the stuff I really wanted from the start. Two years on and I still regret not making a big offer on a set of Lakeshores - I will never know if that would have worked at the time!

So I would go back in time and tell myself to stop thinking and start buying

PCA $5s @ $400

Still overpriced imo  :ROFLMAO:

an auction of a Lakeshore set that ended at the unheard of amount of $7000

Just north of $8/chip or something like that. I think I made an offer last summer for something close to $30/chip. Was turned down pretty quick.

I'm one of the only guys that doesn't push the need for samples I guess. I've never bought samples. At most was I met with @allforcharity which helped me, but even then I went in a completely different direction than I thought I would.

Only thing I'd have done differently is bought more at lower prices, but that goes for everything, real estate, crypto.

1. Avoid PCF
2. Buy dice chips
3. Be happy and rich forever
Funny thing is... most of us are still ahead. I'd say my paltry chip collection is worth at least $10k more than I paid for it. At LEAST. So buy chips and you can be rich AND happy with more chips ;)

Is it limited to chips or could we talk other things? Like load up on Bitcoin and don't lose that shit type talk? lol

Wouldn’t change a thing. From the old days of changing sets like a pair of shoes to the parabolic rise in prices and hoarding. It’s been a blast.

Same. Although I don’t probably qualify for “old days”. It’s been a blast. Buying everything in sight, selling, trading, giveaways, all of it.

If anything, I wish I had bought more high denom sets earlier, had I realized I would find a way to get to a super low net cost by selling some sets to big off-forum home game runners at excellent margins. Turns out, once educated about chips and molds, some of the more diligent ones love the idea of felting real casino chips on their tables.

They are essentially buying our tournament sets for their home games lol
Heck my tournament sets don't usually have denoms as high.

You have shown them the light, there's no turning back now. Have any of them been open to creating CPC sets?
