If you are an eBay seller named mikeauto1972 (3 Viewers)

Just found out that this is likely him on amazon, prices track: https://www.amazon.com/sp?ie=UTF8&seller=A142TF5YJDMP1Q
I have bought a lot of chips from that Amazon guy over the years and he infuriates me. He’s the ultimate singles seller. Not only will he only list one at a time, but usually when you buy one, he’ll relist the next one at a higher price. Here’s my history with him on Gulfport singles:

(And I remember when he went up to $14.99 I swore I was done with him, but then one night I had too many drinks and bought one. And then that $19.99 one was needed to complete the rack, ha.)

$1.69 10/12/16
$2.49 10/15/16
$7.99 10/26/16
$14.99 1/26/17
$19.99 4/27/17

Interestingly, he was charging $4.49 to ship a single back in 2016, which was stupid high back then. Today his shipping charge is still $4.49, which isn’t bad. So there’s that.

I stuck up for this fucking guy before with his willingness to accept reasonable counters, but had a really weird transaction with him just now I need to shed some light on.

I ordered a Columbus Horseshoe $25 chip. He had it listed for like $65 but he can get fucked at that price. I got it for around $37 which is cheaper than ubering there when I get out to Ohio for Hornet’s meetup.

He ships me a Horseshoe Cleveland $25 chip (which should go for like $2 tops) and feigns ignorance when I complained via eBay (“oh it’s not the same chip?”). Gimme a break dude, you ship enough chips that you know the difference.

He asked for his $2 chip back before shipping me the one I ordered. If I lose the chip or it doesn’t get there, then he’s plus $37 and can relist the original chip.

I had to ship it back at my cost but he offered to give me free shipping if I bought something else from him - which is another ploy to get me to spend more with him.

He did ship the correct chip once the incorrect one got back to him. Just left a bad feeling with me buying anything from him in the past. Maybe it was an honest mistake but it kinda felt scummy as fuck.

I can't be sure, but I thought mikeauto passed away, and this could just be a relative running his store. I might be confusing him with another ebayer.

Lol, you ended up having to pay return shipping (and assume risk) when he sent you the wrong chip? Bad form from seller. I can't even believe that is allowed when he made the mistake. Makes zero sense.

Not that it matters, but a fun little thing is that the horseshoe cleveland $25 looked to be in pretty amazing condition, so probably harvested early on rather than bought from thechiproom.

I told him it was a cheap common chip and he insisted on it being returned before he sent the new one. The entire thing just felt semi-intentional and kinda scummy.

It has to be Mikeauto1972. If it's not, it must be his identical twin.

This "My Casino Chips" amazon dealer is such a scumbag! VERY similar to Mikeauto, it has to be the same person.

Back when i first started collecting i messaged him on amazon for singles of Terribles Las Vegas $1s. Sub $5 chip. I asked if he could combine shipping on a few items, he asked for me to send him photos of the chips i wanted. So i did.

He proceeds to take down the items and list them for higher prices.

Just recently he did the same thing again on a chip i made a strong offer on.

Another experience i had with Mikeauto1972 on eBay :

My casino chips on Amazon is the worst! The nut low! I know I’ve spoken about him before, but just to summarize my first encounter with him:
In fall 2016, I started building a rack of grand casino Gulfport $1s. On 10/12/16, I somehow managed to buy three from him at $1.69 each plus shipping. Not sure if this was before he began his policy of only selling one at a time, or if he’d made a mistake, listing three.
But that was the last time he sold me multiples. The next one cost le $2.49. The one after that was $7.99. I didn’t buy another one from him until January - I may have been drunk, and I paid $14.99.
And then I bought one more in April - the price was $19.99 - I must have needed that to complete a barrel or something.
But yeah, I don’t like the way he does business - only listing one at a time so he can raise the price every time he sells one. And he always charged the max for shipping when other sellers charged half as much.

I’m definitely the sucker though, because I’ve bought a bunch of chips from him over the years. He must have a huge inventory, because it seemed like every time I needed a chip, he had one. And the first one was usually pretty cheap.

Sorry to hear about your experience, but I have to agree, he’s definitely the worst. I recently inquired about a Carnival Cruise $100 and after he asked for the “scan” , he took it down and said it was sold. Worst kind of person, can’t even put into words!
Like seriously? Someone randomly purchased it seconds after I sent him the scan.

Ha! I just looked over my amazon history and I've bought over 200 singles from him. Like I said, just about every time I wanted a chip, he had it. And his prices usually started low - just don't keep buying the same chip.

You know, at one point I was convinced he could tell when somebody put a chip in their cart, and then he would raise the price before I bought. It definitely happened at least once. I remember after that, I'd always wait until I knew exactly what I wanted, add all the chips at once, and then cash out quickly.
Because the thing was, since his shipping was so high, you HAD to buy multiple singles at once, just to justify the shipping costs.
But my MO definitely became browse until I knew exactly what I wanted, then set it up so I could hit "add to cart" then back, then add, then back, etc, then pay quickly.
Does anybody know if amazon sellers can actually tell when you put something in your cart?

Damn. Smart move there, I feel like he did raise the price on me for a few items while they were in my cart. True story.

Seriously I’d love to know myself. He’s the worst of the worst.

I have just had an interesting eBay experience…

Recently made an offer on a Gulfport $1 single on eBay cause it was in rough shape and all imo over priced and not selling.
I thought I was being generous on my offer but they said they change the listing to auction starting 50% lower than my offer.

Well I was the only bid and snagged it. They “shipped” it without tracking and that was a month ago to my US postal address, when I contacted them they were pretty happy to offer a refund.

This has me thinking they prefer to refund than sell the chip but don’t want the eBay blowback?

Reasonable thought process?

Wild. Who was the seller? I would report them as well

I’ll hold off naming for now as I’m pretty generous with these things.
I will say they were not the only seller to do this, the other was on a Nevada Hotel $5.
Both about a month ago and I’ve made multiple purchases with other sellers that turn up just fine.

Maybe non tracked take longer through both mail service and sorting at the reshipper. Either way I’ll update the thread on the outcome.

I should also say these were both auctions with no other bidders. Coincidence most likely, just interesting nevertheless.
