InviteTracker

Resource InviteTracker (23 Viewers)

I just added myself as the recipient and it looks like it went out to the whole group. Good thing the invite wasn't just gibberish! I couldn't find a way to stop the sends. :)

Also is it possible to add hyperlinked URLs to the messages if I wrap them in HTML?

Something like

HTML:
<a href="[PersonalLink]">Submit Your Status</a>

vtext is their SMS gateway, vzwpix is their MMS gateway. Both should work for this tracker.
Oh weird. OK my buddy on verizon said he didn't get the accidental text even though the event log shows it went to him (he did get the email). His phone is correct too.

hmmm, did you happen to send the message as "group" or "individual"? I know some carriers can flag messages if they're sent in bulk, and mark them as spam.

That’s weird. It obviously didn’t do that for me - or I wouldn’t have published it. Can you PM me your event log or a link to your shared sheet. I’ll try to determine what happened.

I sent as individual. It was supposed to only go to me so I added myself to the recipient list. It looked like this: https://d.pr/i/GOZXgz
Check your spam folder in your email and see if you have an email from -MMSC NDR Administrator-
I have one player that I keep getting this "Undeliverable Message" error for whatever reason. Maybe you're having the same issue...

That link didn’t work for me.
Nevermind, I was able to open it on another computer. I see from your screenshot that you are sending as both (email and text). I can't say that I tested that specific scenario in this version. I will try to test that tonight or tomorrow night. Are you using Twilio integration or are you sending via SMS/MMS gateways? I want my test to be as nearly identical to you as possible.

SMS/MMS gateway. I am happy to try twilio.

By the way, I found and fixed a couple other unrelated bugs and added a minor feature. Look for an updated beta in the coming days.

So the HTML works for email but not MMS. Makes sense. I guess then you'd have to set-up different templates for each channel or use email as the main communication channel about a game and then do follow-up and reminders via text.

I like your idea though. I’ll incorporate this in my next update so that it does it for emails but not mms/sms. I’ll probably have something out this week.

Where do I start to look into this? I read the update posts and the first post in this discussion. Should I start with the documentation for v3.4, or wait for v3.5 docs?

I've used group texts, emails and a FB group, but still having difficulties communicating with my haphazard group. Games are sporadic, so no set schedule and no solid, dependable core group of players yet. Is this going to help me?

Can I have a group discussion with this, or is it just for sending invites and receiving responses? Since my group isn't fully formed yet, I tend to have some back and forth regarding dates and times, and it's a ton of work. I post in the FB group, but have trouble getting others to reply back. I need something that is a lot less work, individual text messaging and hand holding.

I have other questions, but I will wait to see if I can find them in the documentation. Thanks!

Wait till my next release of v3.5 later this week. At which point you can use the v3.4 doc to get started. The biggest change is the introduction of message templates to replace all the individual message tabs and the optional twilio integration. You should be able to figure out the former. For the Twilio integration I’d point you to the Twilio credentials menu on the top right. That might be enough to get you started.

Maybe, maybe not. Kinda depends on why it’s not coming together. I hasn’t necessarily helped my turn out, but it has helped me tremendously in managing my invites and responses. The waitlist feature might encourage people to respond earlier but only after you’ve shown that your camera fill up.

Hope this helps.

I developed this specifically to avoid group messaging, because I often found my thread getting hijacked with banter an non game related messages. While they were great to read through it made it tedious to parse out people’s responses to the game.

That being said, there is the option to send group emails and those might serve your purpose. Group texts don’t work very well because of the way they are sent.

Another thing is that if the title on the settings tab is too long, on mobile you end up having words overlapping, no matter how small you make the type or how tall you make the row on the dashboard.

Yeah, nothing you can do about that. There is no linkage between the formatting in the dashboard and the formatting on the web page.

I’m sure someone with formal html knowledge could figure it out. Unfortunately that’s not me at the moment.

I guess that’s me! I’ll give it a whirl.
