Ruled a fielders choice, rbi for Baez, Error charged on Catchers throw to nowhere/right field.
So many things wrong here:
1: Bad throw from 3rd baseman
2: Craig comes off the bag to catch the bad throw. Shoud have immediately taken 3 steps back to bag for inning ending out.
3: Since Criag chases down Baez all the way back to home plate until he can't go any farther, all he has to do at that point is tag Baez for inning ending out.
4: Instead Craig flips ball to Catcher who should have just tagged Baez out for inning ending out, instead misses swipe tag of meaningless runner.
5: Then catcher thorws to late 1B covering player instead throwing into right field. Up until this time putting Baez out at 1B (one of many freakin' possible ways) keeps the meaniless runner coming from 2B from scoring even after the fact tha he crossed the plate. As soon as Baez safely touches 1B the run then scores.
And all of it comes about when the play before the Pirates blow a pickoff move and the Cub runner advances to 2B and into scoring position to setup said bonehead play.
Craig will forever be labeled with that play as being one of the most bonehead plays ever.
