Pretty much this...

And the impact of the AS chips being released into the market is finally being realized, as prices continue to decline (probably will find a floor soon). Some of the least desirable AS chips are now selling for $250/rack and IMO they are better than most (if not all/any) of the Jack’s RHC chips.

And after nearly a couple of years being in the market, the Cincinnati chips are still available through the original vendor. Selling all the Jack’s chips, even though they are mint, will take some time and most likely will have to be at a lower price than we have recently seen. The beauty of it is that PCF has become a large enough marketplace that price discovery can happen efficiently and within a reasonable time frame.

I think the original implication was someone(s) in the original GB liquidated their boat chips to fund this purchase in order to make more money. That's how I took it....simple capitalism.

I still am taken back by the fact that RHC chips in lower denoms command over $2 a chip with the brow beating RHCs take here. Maybe it's wishful thinking on my part that people will buy in to that BS.

PCF isn't the only market place either though...

But you are correct in noting that there is a price correction going on with some of the boat chips
 
As always, I welcome the prospect of new chips (especially mint chips) into the chipping community -- more chips available to the masses is always a good thing, regardless of how they come to be. And as expected, I'm not a buyer prospect for RHC chips, regardless of how pretty (or ugly) they may be. 43mm IHC chips, on the other hand.....

I expect the chips will get offered for what the new owner(s) considers 'market prices', whatever that turns out to be (and may or may not fluctuate in response to demand). And I don't expect prices to be cheap for the oversize chips. Those hoping to see these get offered for anything close to the purchase price are living a pipe dream.

I'm also secretly hoping that @inca911 managed to pull this off. :) There are only two or three (as yet) unnamed people who are the likely purchaser(s).
 
I might go so far as to say I've never seen a set with worse 100s than this (primary and secondary)

Definitely some nice chips in there and it will be great to see some mint chips in the market.
 
Why would there be a quarter at JACK Detroit?

I mean, what modern casino needs quarters.

Something smells fishy and it’s not the fish market down the road.... hmmm
 
Actually now that I think about it, one of the GPI order forms for the tournament set had a 1. Like a T1. That’s pretty unusual too.

Why ask why?

But seriously, I recall reading that Greektown used the quarter chips to pay a commission (or give change for paying a commission) for a certain table game, like Pai-Gow Poker, for increments of $5 bets. (5% commission of a $5 bet is $0.25).
 
All Detroit casinos have 25c chips. Motor City, Greektown, MGM. They are for the 5% commissions on Baccarat and Pai Gow bets. If I bet $25 and win I only get $23.75 back. I guess they figure it is easier to have the quarters in the rack as chips, same size as all the other chips. That or they are mandated to have them.
 
Assuming either Chip Room or Chip Exchange got these...? I guess it's only a matter of time before some kind of sale threads appear
