JD Jack Detroit Labels - Pros & Cons to murder vs over-label (2 Viewers)

This thread is very helpful to someone like me who would probably be in the OPs same spot if I go down this road.
Appreciate you posting your experience. You’re two steps ahead of me in the journey. Still in the process of murdering my chips, but will be applying similar labels to RHCs. I have some slight gauges from the exacto knife, good lesson on the label pressure when applying.

GL!
Glad this post is helping others as well.

It is very confusing even with all the faq. I’m the type where, unless I’ve experienced it myself, had my own hands into it, and fully understand it I have to just take people’s advise and follow the bread crumbs and cross my fingers. But now I’m questioning the advise.

We learn more from our mistakes and very little from our successes. I may be going a different direction.

Chip inlay replacement is rarely an easy process. I think the best results tend to be a THC chip with a milled recess or inlay removal followed by label with a precision fit thick textured laminate label.

I no longer own RHC and have not tried to remove their inlays. I expect the overall process would be simpler since they probably all have vinyl labels of comparatively recent manufacture.
