So here I am on Thursday, with 48 hours to go until "shuffle up and deal". Yet I find myself stacking tournament AND cash game chips, and drinking beer (I'm on vacation).

So the question is....am I alone...or are there other poker peeps with the JONSING for a game bug?? If so, show me your Jonsing pics. Don't care what they are....just show me you have issues:D

HUGE regret of mine. Not getting a large set of Terrbles when they were readily available at low prices.:(

Yeah, well, I got mine only a couple months ago, so... The truth is, I probably should have just waited to order a custom set, but as you can see below, the Terribles do fit the theme of the room. Note the darkness, because I'm hosting tonight. That room gets sun all afternoon and it's supposed to be 90 today, so I try to keep that room cool before all the "hot air" shows up!

I'm always itching to play a game. Sadly my home game hasn't been able to get together in awhile due to everyone being busy. I'll be about 20 minutes from Atlantic City tonight but I'll be down in the area for business and I need to come home afterwards. It'll be hard to fight the itch to just drive to the Borgata.

I know I'm not alone when I say I fight the itch by sitting in front of the TV shuffling chips. Even if I'm watching something that has nothing to do with poker.

I'm hoping to host a home game next weekend. But we'll see if it actually materializes

I know the feeling. Good luck scratching your itch(y)

This sounds crazy, but I've dealt a 7 hand game, with no one else at the table. I try to imagine my regulars in their positions and what their play would be on those cards, and being honest about what my play would be. I use chips as well, so I tack my performance. You'd be surprised what you can learn, all the while scratching that itch. Try it...

Oh good so Im not the only one that does this too. It, too, keeps me from driving to a casino and spending money.

I do try to use it to help my game. But there was nothing worse than turning over the cards of an empty seat and seeing their full house that beat my flush. My thought was just "really?"

Couple buddies and I played some of the Wsop tourneys last year. We would do this between the 3 of us pre-game for a full handed table and talk strategy in my room at the Rio.

We ran through scenarios using player types, each of us running third of the hands. It really did help with focus and learn strats from each other. I learned an insane amount playing a week straight, pretty much eating on the go, sleep, then more poker.

We would also play out hands we tried to figure out from recent play or the previous day. Great way to poke at leaks and shore up weakness.

Got my fix, and got to see a few crazy hands. Sickest hand of the night. Pocket QQ loses to K9 offsuit (big blind special). QQ tried to be tricky. Limped pre-flop. Smallish bet on the flop. Doomed on the turn.

Now I'm good for a week before I need another fix:D

For the love of God, please correct the thread title. It puts me on tilt every time I open up the forum.
