We made a good dent in sorting today. Here are some initial thoughts. The barrels marked primary reserves were not all new chips as I had hoped. There are a lot of new chips in there (especially the $1s), but since I don't sort chips, they will all be sold as used. The primary chips all seem to be in really great used condition, just a little dirty. All edges are still sharp. It's really hard to describe how amazing the $5 primary and $100 secondary (Arc Yellow and Bahama Blue) chips are in person. You will just have to order a sample set to find out. I will get the sample set sale thread up tomorrow. We got through sorting the secondary chips and some of the primary chips, but I had to leave to get the Penske Truck back to the lot.

Big shout out to @Boother36 for helping me out today. A great old friend from Michigan who happened to be visiting SLC.

I wish u were still in MI id help out for free just to get to see the madness I remember seeing all the Horseshoe Cleveland's I damn near had a heart attack still wish I would have asked if I could have taken a pic of that just racks upon racks lol crazy that was like 5-6yrs ago how time flys gonna be another great sale

Nope. I’ve never scored a dam thing. Despite many efforts and practice. Hasn’t happened for me!

I only ever scored an HSI set, and that was because they were available for days on end.

I don’t even care anymore because it is pointless to sell or otherwise manoeuvre for these sales, since it’s a lottery. Perhaps not for the keyboard warriors.

Really good? Those chips were literally the biggest disaster in chipping that I’ve ever seen. I don’t exactly live in fear, but I realistically have concerns about buying chips that have been contaminated by coming in contact with those disasters.

If you’re suggesting the majestic stars were dirty, I would turn your attention to the Horseshoe Cleveland. Those chips had so much cakes on filth that they literally stuck together. I placed a few orders and each time a felt vaguely guilty about bringing them into my house.

The MS’s were pretty haggard and since I never handled the Horseshoe Cleveland’s at great length, I couldn’t compare the two.

But sure the HSI secondary snappers, while they had their problems (I don’t even know wth the yellowing was) once throughly cleaned and flattened, turned out good enough that any time some were offered up in the classifieds or auction, they had a decent amount of interest

im confused by this, do you mean you never was able to buy any of the full sets offered by jim other than hsi, or are you just referring to chips from tcr in general?

Yeah the $500s were shocking. I can’t imagine playing a high stakes game and having to handle that kind of gunk.
On the brighter side, I’m sure these chips won’t be anything like that. Thanks to Covid, stuff got cleaned.

Back in the years, (2013?), Jim released Casino Aztar, Evansville, IN (same state). it had primary and secondary snappers. Both were in casino used condition, still in decent shape though.

Covid cleaning isn't necessarily a good thing... Resorts World Catskills DESTROYED their 25s by cleaning them turning them from an olive green into a gross gray color.

Sorry, what I mean is, for my part, all the sales I’ve been a part of after Jack Detroit (Mar 2019), I’ve never been able to put into a cart fast enough, what I want, and been able to pay for it.

Sales such as Lady Lucks(only samples), Isle (didn’t get nothing), and IOC (didn’t get nothing). I wanted chips from all of these sales. For Jack Cinci, I just waited for classifieds, though I never did go for a set. Over the last year I’ve definitely taken a preference with THC. Sold all RHC except for Jack Detroit.

Only during the HSI sale, was I able to score a set. It turned out there were more sets available than would be owners, but still was nice to get a complete set.

were you after the more scarce chips? i didn't buy anything but i remember being able to easily check out for ioc 5s for example.

i think, i could be wrong here, the primaries also haven't been on the table for very long. am i right in saying the indiana grand only opened in like 2019?
