Lightning Strikes (2 Viewers)

Neutral party request for bet clarification:
$50 on the series victor or $50 on tonight's game?

And now, we return you to your regularly programmed NHL degeneracy....

In light of Tampa's despicable "dress code" for spectators, I'm surprised you haven't shut this thread down out of pure shame, Mark.

It’s not my fault if opposing fan’s reading comprehension keeps them from enjoying 99% of the arena  Visitor’s jerseys are only prohibited in the private clubs.

When’s the home team gonna win one?

And how about that goalie play!?

So ridiculous that an expansion team (Vegas) makes the finals their first season. I’ve got a lot of friends in Vegas and they’re suddenly big Golden Knight supporters when they didn’t care at all earlier in the season. I love my Vegas buddies but as pro sports expands there, expect Vegas to be the epitome of bandwagon fans.

The Vegas Golden Knights are a very good hockey team. They are fast and apply constant pressure to create turnovers leading to scoring opportunities. They also have great goaltending with Fleury. Making the conference finals in their first year of existence is an awesome story and overall good for hockey in general. It just goes to show that many players, given the right opportunity, can flourish in this league.

If the Lightning can finish off the Capitals, I am concerned we may be running into a team of destiny

Would the be long time die hard fans if the team sucked?

Bandwagon teams exist everywhere. Until the Preds made the Stanley Cup, they couldn't sell out a game. In fact, 8 years ago, Predators owners decided that they would move the team out of Nashville, unless they could sell out some games. Local businesses (mostly radio stations) bought up tickets to get the sell-out, and then gave them away - only pissing ownership off even more, because the fans were wearing Red Wings jerseys (I know, I was one of them).

The season after the Cup run, tickets are re-selling above face value.

At least Vegas has a sizable community of sports enthusiasts - even if their enthusiasm comes from sports betting. We'll see what happens when the Raiders make their move, but I expect a lot of excitement there as well. And when the G.Knights hit a couple cooler seasons, the true fans will continue to show, and we'll see how many hockey fans are in the desert then.
