Tourney Lowest chip T5 or T25? (1 Viewer)

This might be one of those situations where, despite sounding interesting and cool, the idea isn't actually a good one.
I'd say scrap the plan entirely.
But if you're definitely gonna try it, why not just let people buy in for a full stack whenever they get there?

Yeah I just want to try it, just for fun. See how it goes. I think thats the way to do it. Let them buy their $20 stack (10/10/12/1) when they arrive. But are there any downsides to having them not post blinds if they are late (i.e. is it unfair to any of the other players?).

According to TDA rules (used in virtually every major casino tournament) all players buy in for a full stack. If they pre-paid, their stack hits the table and is blinded off. If they did not pre-pay, when/if they do arrive, they get the same stack as everyone else.

The only time this could be advantageous, is if you award league points, all the way down to the first player KO'ed, and then each player after that gets more points. However if this is not the case, then there is no advantage to buying in for the same amount as everyone else. In fact, if there was an early KO and rebuy, the late player starts at a disadvantage, because they are now starting with less than the average chip stack at the table.

There have been many threads discussing this. If you cannot find one, you should just start a new thread instead of starting a new topic on another thread that would make it more difficult for future readers.
