They are vector based artwork so that there is no loss of quality when blown up to the size of a topper. I haven’t printed any images before.

It's best to measure your own table. I've seen dimensions fluctuate up to 1 inch.

Measure the inside of of the rail to the inside of the opposite side. If you went with what they have on here, it would cover the entire table and not just the inside portion.
Have any of you who ordered a table topper that had a gradient in the image had an issues with "banding" in the gradient when printed? My designer is done with the design, but when I look at it at full scale the center section shows fairly noticeable lines (banding) in the gradient where it transitions from lighter to darker color.

Is the banding showing IN illustrator? Or in like a preview (i.e. Google Drive, etc)
I've had some color issues and contrast issues while looking at a preview but then opening up the full file seems to be fine.
The designer sent me the files as print ready PDFs. Are we supposed to send AI files?

Does any of the gradient show banding? Did you submit an Adobe Illustrator file or some other format? Nice looking table!

For print, it’s always best to send the Adobe Illustrator file. When the file is ripped by the printer, having the original file can make the difference.
PDF files made from the Illustrator file often print ok, but a PDF “locks down” many print settings when it’s made, and the printer is usually at the mercy of those original settings. If the printer is supplied with the Illustrator file, they can make more settings changes to match their equipment.

Oh, and make sure there are no spot colors (PMS)...every color in the file should be a CMYK mix.
Gradients with PMS colors can be problematic (if they're not set up a certain way), even when the file is saved as CMYK.

I think I’m ready to pull the trigger on a table topper, but I’ve got a couple of quick questions first…
I’d like to canvass prior purchasers for their input/suggestions, and any input would be appreciated!!
Preliminary info: Looking for a tabletop for my dining table - which is flat/smooth and is a 42”x84” rectangular table.
Questions:
1. With a thickness of 2mm, is there any sort of problems/issues if I just put the topper directly on the table as is? Or, per the OP, is a second topper or other padding recommended?
2. Size? With my table being 42”x84”, do I go with those exact measurements or would it be recommended to go with something like 41”x83”?
3. Sewn edges vs non-sewn edges: what should I go with and why?
That’s it…. Again, any help is appreciated!

(1) no issues with this -- think of the topper as a giant mousepad. I also have a rectangular table and have had no issues with slipping. Also, I ordered multiple toppers and I stack them (i.e. i use two toppers each time i host for a thickness of 4mm). (2) I go with 1/2 inch less on each dimension -- see pic below.
(3) I don't go with sewn edges; chose instead to go with a very slightly smaller dimension than my table. I've had no issues with the non-sewn edges.

That's pretty bananas, just make sure it prints correctly. Mine came out fantastic and its only 60 MBs.
Yeah, I'm asking my designer to look into things more. What kind of files did you guys submit AI, JPG, PDF? Was it a vector file?

.ai illustrator file, everything was a vector, which is why it was so small. If there are photo images, it will definitely increase the size, especially if it is 300ppi and like an 8ft table. 800+ does seem high though, but I'm not too surprised.
From the looks of it (the zoomed in cropped photos you added above) it should not be a huge file. Unless you have some really crazy stuff going on elsewhere.

What is the current lead time on these? I just got a Barrington and I am very interested in a topper upgrade for it!
PM him. Read OP and the thread and it’ll prolly cover these questions. @rjdev7 saie he was ill a few posts ago so I wouldn’t expect an immediate reply. He’s a reliable and very good vendor so if he doesn’t get back ASAP don’t fret. He will when he can.
