Very neat! Thanks! How about the first one with a bit bolder green. I saw one on another chip. I think it might have been called Lawn Green?

And to be clear, please don't do this just for me. I'm not 100% committed to this set yet. And besides, I'm a micro stakes player, so If I do buy a set, I would only get about 3 barrels of 20s. So you would need a lot more than just me on board to get to 500 of these chips.

I just don't get it. They don't have a 25c or $20 ring because of... Reasons? Like nobody has ever asked for those? They didn't think in the product department that maybe they should make one?

Weird.
Realistically fracs and $20s are the purview of home games. The only people dumb enough to put the money required to get such a thing are people like us!

Don't lots of casinos use $20s? And even if they didn't, and even if you could make the case that those denominations are only for home games, the cost of creating one just seems absurd.

Remember that they mainly sell to card rooms and casinos. If casinos don't use them then they don't make them.

So the tournament set will include a 1 and a 20?

Btw, are the inlays on these chips printed directly onto the chip? Or are they stickers?

Okay so let's say that no casino uses a 20. And as we have previously discussed here on PCF, fractional chips are extremely hard to find now.

Nobody has asked them to do a fractional chip or a 20? Once they've done it once, they have it, don't they? It's an injection mold, so I know that it will wear out over time, but that just means that since they're not as popular as other rings, then they should last that much longer.

"A small and simple single cavity plastic injection mold usually costs between $1,000 and $5,000. Very large or complex molds may cost as much as $80,000 or more. On average, a typical mold that produces a relatively simple part small enough to hold in your hand costs around $12,000."

Getting a new denomination from Matsui requires making a new component for a modular mold system. It's not a complete mold, but it is a part of a very complex mold. $3,500 seems like a bargain.

Yeah, since it's only the inner ring, I would expect it to be a modular component and therefore less expensive than a full mold. But my point is still the same: are you telling me that the company is not willing to invest $3,500 to have the ring ready to go? I mean, they would make that back in one order.

And just because they're not as popular as their main casino denominations, the mold last that much longer and wouldn't need to be replaced as often.

Would you consider a black 1, tweek the yellow?

Also the violet feels very washed out, purple seems significantly better imo

I am leaning more towards using the Tourney set over the actual cash set as cash set at the moment

Hopefully the GB don’t start too soon thou, needed more time to save more PCF $
Yeah, the blue NCV, white 1, and red 5 are pretty great. Wouldn’t mind a 100k chip or plaque, though.

Thanks everyone for all of your feedback, comments, complaints, etc. I have the final versions done and will reveal those in the soon to be posted group buy thread. Will most likely have it up within a week. Will leave plenty of time in the thread for everyone to get their order in.

I know this is totally subjective but are these “better” than the Abbiatis? How do these feel and sound compared to Abbiati? The metal slug sound just didn’t do it for me. I am assuming these also have the metal slug to add weight

These feel completely COMPLETELY different from the Abbiati chips.

I absolutely love the Abbiati chips, and have nearly 2000 of them. But I think I actually prefer the feel and sound of the Matsui 43mm. The sound especially, bugs me a little with the Abbiati, but is fantastic with the Matsui 43mm. But of course, as you say, it's all subjective, and the next guy might have the complete opposite opinion.

Do the Matsui also have a metal slug? I don't know. Now I'm wondering if I should destroy one for science. The only problem is, I shipped out ALL of my extras, that aren't in perfect little complete sample sets. So...I don't think I can destroy one. :(

Okay, with that out of the way, they definitely don't feel like the Abiattis... They feel much much nicer.

Abbiatis are awesome. Can’t say these are better or worse. Just different. And cheaper.
