Except that the T25 in this set is THE NUTS. The colors are insane.

I'm actually doing the opposite. I'm getting a ton of T25s, so that in a T10k tourney, I can give 16/11 of T25/T100 in starting stacks, instead of the more traditional 12/12. Get a ton of those green monsters on the table! :)
I like the sound of that . . . may reconsider my breakdown . . .

I currently have a T25 ceramic set that can go 3 tables, I'm thinking this one should be at least 10, preferably 16-20 because I'd much rather play with these than ceramics anyway. I do like a lot of chips on the table as well . . . We're all newbies.

Edit: 16-20 players that is, just proofread lol

This is the breakdown I was considering for a two table T5 base.

You could also consider a full rack of the 1k chips. Then if everyone rebuys once you can completely color everything up all the way to the 1k chips. It also leaves the options of larger starting stacks.

I want to do a set for traditional T10k stacks and occasional T20k stacks, but I love these 5s so much. So hard to decide what to do.

Agreed, I want a T5 set to complement my current T25 set, but I also want those high denoms. =/

Also the cool thing about having a full rack of 1k chips, is that if you decide to do a single table 10k freeze out, you will have enough 1k chips to color everything up as well. If you want rebuys for that single table 10k, add a barrel of 5k chips.

OK, this is all your fault.

@Tommy my order has been updated to 850 chips.

Yeah, it's such a good chip that I almost did a t5 base as well. But I had a t5 base set once, and never used it cause I'm so used to the 10k starting stacks. Just didn't feel right.

Is this stupid? Sorry, not really a tourney guru.
I think I want something that can go 2 tables, can play 1500 or 2500 starting stacks, lots of chips on the table at lower player counts (20/20/9 breakdown?), and I want all of the colors. Is there a better way to accomplish all of these goals? Maybe just a few of the 5k and 25k chips since we'll never reach them?

5 - 220
25 - 220
100 - 220
500 - 120
1000 - 120
5000 - 80
25000 - 20

I don't see you ever using 25ks with those starting stacks. With 10k starting stacks I only ever use 5ks for rebuys. I've had 17 players once and still haven't used a 25k chip. The 5ks do make sense though, I suppose, if you ever want to up the starting stacks size in the future.

Adjusting/adding 120 more chips to your proposed break down gives you a lot of options.

I didn't know there was a WPS Matsui GB before! Just found this pic. These chips must be the nutz as I haven't seen a set for sale in the classifieds. I'm glad I increased my order. May have to increase again...

Link? Searched Google and found 2009 thread saying they were made in 2006. Is that true?

I hate those pics ..... the second one convinced me to just get T100s through T5000s ...now that first pic makes me think I want T25's
I am literally getting rid of the big blind ante format (which I love) in my tournaments when I use this set just so we can get the greens in play LOL!

I'm only getting a small set (100 to 200 chips max) for 3-4 players. Just something to use instead of breaking out the other new set I just got. I want those 25's but it would spread the stacks thin for denom totals and I wanted bigger stacks of each. (1st world problems)

Arg. Those photos make me want to order MORE!! Maybe I need to push my set to 3 tables too...even though the possibility of me EVER hosting a 3-table event is ZERO.

Still...want MORE chips
