This would make a really nice base for a poker table.

Could ya existing top also. Hmmmm

It’s a little short at 72" long, but would be nice for a 6-handed self-dealt game, maybe even 7.

For tables like this, I have made very basic toppers attaching my preferred surface with 3M adhesive spray to Volara foam cut to the size of the top, and trimming my fabric so that it drips over the edges by about 6". On the back I like to adhere a pad cut from faux leather or similar material so the foam doesn't stick to the table. I really don't miss having a rail. Great dining room table solution.

We’ve played 8 at my 64”x36” rectangular dining table. A bit uncomfortable, but it works. My group would do 9 on this just fine. :)

BT, for that size with 8 players a plywood topper extending the surface even 2-3” on each side would be easy to make and really give everyone some breathing room. But to each his own.

It's good for 8 beyond doubt. Many beautiful things a good, poker-minded carpenter can do to it:)
