Milano vs Majestic (2 Viewers)

You could buy the labeled yellow chip then remove the label. It's really easy to switch labels on the Majestics.
How would you peel the existing stickers off? noob question I know, but I don't really wanna take a knife to the chips! tested methods would be really appreciated.

I use a small sharp knife to get under the label and pop it off. After a few you will get comfortable with it and could easily do 100 an hour. Transferred labels between 150 chips and didn't damage any chips or labels in the process. Have not noticed any marks on the chips or had any labels fall off since.

Bit the bullet, ordered the majestics today! Can't wait to get them.

Ordered the yellows, will relabel them myself!

Hopefully get them in 2 weeks! Damn shipping to the UK!

Milly I just found this post. Did you relabel your yellows? How much of a pain was it? I really like these chips but with only 25c (salmon), $1 (white) and $5 (red) chips on my table, the colors will look a little monotone no? A blue or yellow in there would be great, but I'm not sure I have the patience to relabel chips (and Im more worried about messing them up, or the labels peeling off down the road etc).

IMHO the .50 are redundant. The quarters by themselves will work just as well if not better. I would substitute with more 1s.

absolutely this. Just a waste of money to get chips the a 2x the value of the chips before them. Makes for (dare I say) too many chips on the table at once.

mummel, I am still waiting on my shipment, its coming from the US to the UK, so going to take a while. I know its reached the UK last week Thursday, but someone at the postal service is 'pissing me off!' with the extra delays! Also have to wait for it to clear customs, we have the pleasure of paying an extra 20% on everything we ship over !!!

I will let you know how it goes once I get them. but I assume it will take a good few hours to label 400 chips, that's after the day or so for oiling them.

^^ That's blasphemy!!!! cant say that on a poker chip forum lol!

Milly, I like a lot of chips, but not a lot of DIFFERENT chips.

For a $.25/.50 game to have ($.25/.50/1/5/10/25, etc..) makes no sense, but I've seen it. Having too many denoms slows the game down, and it's a waste of money and space on the table.

I've seen home tourneys with super dumb stacks that start out (I kid you not) T5, T10, T25, T50, T100, T500, T1k (in that particular poker love fest, the T10 and T50 were two similar shades of blue!!!! Are you effing kidding me?!? lol. A pointless chip, and both blue. Yup...

You should strive to have 3-4 denoms on the table in a game. IMHO. A general guideline is a chips should be 4-5x the amount of the denom before it. The one common exception I see if a tourney set where they jump from 500 to 1k. Some sets are even going away from the standard 25/100/500/1k/5k to this: 25/100/500/2k/10k. Makes more sense imho.

^^^^

Totally agree.

That is why when I have my home cash game, I bust out 2,000 quarters and 5 $1000 chips.

Game on.

Yeah you are probs right!

I bought the following breakdown

200 - 5c
100 - 25c
100 - 50c (I liked the colour - probs won't see the table lol)
200 - $1
50 - $5
25 - $25
25 - $100

We play a very low stakes game and the number of $1 chips would easily cover total buying including re-buys! Got the 5s and 25s in case and the 100s for completeness
