Solo? Highly recommend waiting for another person for the top.
I am, dont worry. Just opening up everything for now.
Bah, just lift with your knees, not your back.
J/k of course

Great work, @T_Chan !
Now I just have to wait until March for my chairs. Unlike GPI, Gasser does take individual custom orders.

Def cool tableFirst off, the table size is usually dictated by how many players that you want to sit. If it's 10, then I agree on a 96"x48" table. I find that sitting on the end, it's hard to deal cards without standing up to do so.
My prefered table is 8 players, so therefore, I have an 84" x 42" table. It has a smaller footprint, so it can easily fit in a smaller room.
My room size is approx 15'x 12' counting an alcove. The table sits on one end of the room, with enough room for the players in the back to get up and walk around the seated players.
I put my bar fridge inset in the wall to give more walking space. The alcove has 3 small tables for the light snacks, napkins, snack bowls, etc. The bar fridge holds the variety of drinks. On the left of the fridge is a table for cups, glasses, ice bucket, and hard liquor.
The table has pull out snack bowl holders to keep the snacks off the table proper.

Glad I found this thread. Currently in the process of a poker room build (area above my garage). The space is 14ft by 20ft. Plenty of room for 1 table. 2 tables may be tight but doable. View attachment 1252479
This thread came back up for me because someone liked one of the posts, and thought it would be good to memorialize my thoughts after having been settled in for a few years.
10x15 is workable if you buy a house, but ~11x16I'd say would be the comfortable minimum if you are trying to pick out a house with an ideal space or building form scratch. My room can get a little tight if you're trying to make your way behind seated players but in front of the TV or side tables. It works, but boy I wish I had just one more foot or so each direction.
Movable side tables is a must. Really limit big furniture if you can.
The kitchen triangle is sink/stove/fridge. The poker 'square' is probably chips/supplies, table, bar/snacks/bathroom. Was lucky enough to put a closet by the dealer seat, and bar with direct access and bathroom just outside the door - and that has worked really well. The only "ideal ideal" would be a second bathroom, but that's a little much to ask in a house
Happy to answer any questions you'd have on this too.
