Not Mine Mitch makes his triumphant return (1 Viewer)

Someone should tell Mitch you should not keep your Paulson chips submerged in nasty seawater storage :)

nothing to see here - chips from nowhere, in terrible condition, maybe radioactive or perhaps at risk for transmitting a communicable disease. If you buy these, expect a visit from the health department. Really, just move along to something else.

maybe radioactive

Looking at the chips, maybe not an exageration.

or perhaps at risk for transmitting a communicable disease

Now that's nonsense. It's not like these are tri-colored quarter pies!

When the two Mitch lots originally came available on eBay my finger hovered over the mouse button for quite some time. I wanted to pull the trigger, but just wasn't willing enough to gamble that enough of them could be salvaged & rehabbed for later use. I'm glad I resisted - I'm not sure I could have done much with these. Best of luck to those speculators out there!

I never could figure how this kind of damage happens. I have other hot stamped chips from California rooms that came out the same way. It looks almost intentional. Could this be some way to cancel the chips?

These are only going to be good for me if they are cheap, cheap, cheap because they may end up being unusable. Given the amount of attention they got here, I can't imagine my price point has a prayer of holding.

Interesting hot-stamps with the banding effect, to be sure. The cross-hatching almost appears to have been removed somehow beneath the stamp, or maybe it just doesn't show without the contaminants. Weird.

Well they went for cheap - - just not cheap cheap cheap. Let's call it an average price of $0.25 per chip, though the fractionals cost more than the rest.

I had no clue this thread was here when I was bidding or I wouldnt have bid against fellow chippers. Anyhow I saw the listings while they were around $4 and put on my watch list. I was motivated by the fact that the seller said he had picked out the best ones and threw out the warped ones. I love to "fix" chips. Pick them up cheap and restore them so to speak. I contacted the seller and told him if by chance he hadnt thrown away the warped chips I would love to buy them. I offered ten cents each. He let me know he still had 196 of them of mixed colors and he would sell them. Once I got those I had new interest in the auctions. I was able to pick up the red, green and bluish black racks. The really cool part of this story is that he sent me the invoice for $68 and forgot to add the 196 chips. Then I noticed in the message he said that he thought it was awesome I could fix them and was going to just send them to me for free. Sweet! It appears in the picture that there are 20 white nickels on the end. Once I clean and bake them flat I would be happy to send them to @Shaggy for free. Pass them on. Maybe they can help cherry pick a better rack. I cant tell if theres any yellow but if there are I would be happy to send those as well. Sort of a cool story. Very nice seller.
Heres the pic of the 196. Very low resolution.

I never worry about bidding vs chippers. The person that wants them the most will give the chips the best home. That doesn't mean I post stuff I want. And I do groan when an auction I am planning to snipe shows up on the boards.

I hope we see some amazing before and after pictures. Show off your skills gents!

Received the chips on wednesday and only had a chance to look at them briefly. The .05 chips that I got are pretty dirty but barely used. Stamps are good and they stand easily on edge. Shaggy should be happy. However trying to get them from brown to white has proved elusive. The .25 reds, 1.00 blues and 5.00 greens are well worn and rounded, stamps worn and also very dirty. I guess for the price I cant complain. There were about 10 of the gold 10.00 chips and those look minty and virtually unused. Ill hopefully have more time this weekend and can get some pictures posted.
