WD40 has proven invaluable
Hmm, interesting. I guess I'm not surprised that would work well as a solvent, but it wouldn't have occurred to me to use it on chips because of the smell. Does it not linger?

confused. Why is this not how all inlays are removed? why are people going at the chips with a blade and solvents when this seems to work really well.
It often times leaves a sliver of the inlay behind. Works great if you aren’t picky or spend time lining up the drill press perfectly for each and every chip

Because it's the wrong size. The router bit is (very slightly) bigger than the inlay, so you are guaranteeing some damage to the edge of the inlay recess.

(EDIT: And alignment issues, as Jeepology mentioned above.)

I had the same reservations, I didn't want my chips to smell like my garage. After 24 hours, I asked the wife to shuffle the WD40 chip into a stack of 10. I couldn't pick it out.

EDIT: Maybe 48 hours, now that I think about it, but it's not an issue and I've got a sensitive nose  :ROFLMAO:

Plus inconsistent depths as well. Murdering with a blade and popping out the inlays will definitely achieve the most consistent and uniform results.

That being said I am going to post photos tomorrow of my first completely milled out inlay set of relabel THCs and I am very happy with how they came out.

Got the Palazzos ready for labels today. The rack I picked up was in superb condition but the chips seemed a little washed out. The white was a bit grey and the edge spots didn't really pop.
So I hit them with the magic eraser and gave the rolling edge a very light oiling (may Oil again if they dull down in a few weeks).

Left barrel - murdered
Middle barrel - after magic eraser
Right barrel - after M.E. and oiling
