I got this thing off Craigslist. It’s truly a great unit. Looks bad, but it’s FULLY FUNCTIONAL!

It’s a WYOTT HotRod. These things retail for over $2000 in some cases. This thing has 11 rollers. Good for 30 dogs. Dual zone heating. With some love, deep cleaning, and a shine, it will be good to go

Price asked was $100. I paid $80. I think I stole it. This thing is an old dog! :ROFLMAO: (See what I did there)

This will be serving up some dogs at the next Cedar Ridge poker game!

Well, I have been working hard to get to the stage to make this post. I was gonna start a new thread but why pollute. This is the evolution of the poker room of Jeevan!

Covid came along and took away my hosting abilities as the setup was too much for my wife and family to work with, after Covid. I had to give up all hosting activities.

Over the last year or so, I’ve wanted to sort of start hosting games again, but it’s hard to find players with so many choices and good games to play at. So I went back to my lab and decided to purpose my 2 bedroom suite, into a Multi table poker room.

I’m proud to say, this Saturday Nov 16, I’m hosting the inaugural Cedar Ridge Poker NLHE tourney. It’s been 3 years since I last hosted, and I’m beyond excited. I’m PUMPED! The whole thing drew me back to PCF and it’s been the driving force behind chipping up a bit but I was always ready to run, never sold em all! Kept my original TChan rental I first bought. Can’t believe it was a rental and the price I won’t even disclose. I retrofitted it with Gorilla legs and it’s fantastic!

I also finally relocated the beast of a TChan custom table I got, and I’m now ready to run 2 table games, and I can easily expand to 3 if demand comes around. It’s my dream. Hot dog roller is next for SURE! I’m on the case!!!!

Here is the new space. It will receive some new paint next year, it’s a bit yellowy, but I’ll replace with some light grey tones. Will see…

Perfect set up!

Since you mentioned paint is a next step… I’m like a broken record on these threads, but have you considered a darker color?

I also think hanging fixtures over the tables would be sweet.
Since this was primarily unused space, its never received any updates. I definitely want to paint in there, with light gray, or the like. Remains to be done. My primary objective is get a 2 table game established. The decor can come after.

For now, I'm wanting to get better chairs, an extra TV, and food, which is why I bought the roller.

Haven't considered hanging fixtures over the tables. Interesting.

I just find that the light from ordinary ceiling fixtures creates a “blah” look... When the table is more spotlit (with some lamps/wall sconces illuminating the rest of the room) it’s more dramatic and attractive.

There’s a MUSTARD comment to be made here somewhere :-)

What? Any room where poker is played requires it in my world. Find a dining room or kitchen island one in CL or FBM and paint the shades and structure.

Mine hang at the Club requisite 21” from the cloth. That’s low and I’ve considered 19.5-20”. It’s almost “I don’t want see the guy across from me unless I want to see the guy across from me” low.

Kill the room lights, wall sconces at GFC, and it’ll be like you died and went to GFC.

Hung two of these in my garage and worked great!

Lighting all depends on the tone and mood you want along with your setting. See attached.

Thanks fellas, for the suggestions.

To be honest, I am not into hanging lights above the tables. I might upgrade the fixture, to some sort of track lights that allow me to focus the beam, but not gonna hang anything. At my recent game, vision or sight, was not an issue. So no need to waste money on lighting. I feel it’s more than adequate.

The paint definitely leaves a lot to be desired, but it’s something that can wait. My primary focus now, is growing a fun home game, with a chill vibe, plentiful fridge, and now some food!

Next will be the chairs. I want to upgrade the chairs. No player is coming back if they are uncomfortable, don’t matter what lights, chips, or paint scheme you got on the walls, or even what food you serve.

I’d come play! I really want to invest in a true gaming/poker chair like you see in major card rooms or casinos. The alibaba set that’s really popular are super nice as well as the gorilla gaming alpha chairs.

I just surfed CL for office chairs. Most of them were free and maybe $10-20 for one or two. I still keep my eyes peeled and will grab one and upgrade for the lowest in the pecking order. Comfort always outkicks cost.

And you can’t beat armrests.

For food, hot dog roller, multiple small crocs which will open you up to sloppy joes’s (both of which ante weekly staples) and taco meat for taco bar. A pizza spinner was an add-on that we’ve done a few times.

Food. Essential. If you go overboard beyond what I listed above you’ll either go broke or burn out. My game is weekly (two and half years this run and four years in my original game) so if yours is less frequent you might opt to go a different route.

Also, normalize gratuities.

My crew gets it and the food is covered every week. We’re not running soup kitchens.

Now if I could just get them to cook for me and clean up after themselves.

Good luck.

So this Dog roller was pretty disgusting to bring home. It worked and well, I got it for a great price. As per the above pics, you can see the filth on the rollers and the drip pan.

So put in the work, cleaned this thing, took it up to max, let it drip away much fat, then started to scrub. (Recommended to have a heat resistant glove to assist)

Applied ice filled rags, then soapy towel, then repeat (at least 6 times before my towel stayed clean….very nasty).

The drip tray had foil but it was glued to the pan with congealed fat. Very nasty also. Ewwwwww, it was difficult to clean. Ended up in the bathtub, soaked in hot water, lots of dish detergent, scrub, repeat and finally clean. Also used SOS pad, it scratched it up a bit, but I’ll take better care of it now.

This thing is ready to serve!
