Here's the difference between 1" and 7/8" labels. I tried to make the web equidistant between the outer edge and the recess on both examples...that meant having to reduce the web mold slightly on the 7/8".

I personally much prefer the 1" inlay like the one on the left. For me, I like the extra space it allows for more artwork on the label/inlay. 7/8 dia is pretty restrictive and especially so if "Tina" can eventually match the label colors with the chip base colors properly which will allow for nice faux shaped inlays. If you try and do a faux shaped inlay inside of 7/8" dia it leaves very little room in there!

Coming soon...shaped recesses and shaped labels. :ROFLMAO:

kidding.

yea, wouldn't that be great? It seems like a lot to ask and a little unlikely, but I think that matching the base color of the chip well with the label is not out of the question. This would open up all the shaped inlays to faux shaped inlays and lots of great options. If gear can do it, Tina should be able to do it too.

Keep in mind that in order to utilize a 1" label correctly, the actual hybrid recess diameter will need to be slightly larger than 1" (allowing for a 1" label placement with some wiggle-room to avoid spinners).

That will also take a lot of trial and error. The shades for one of her Reds is dead on the issues with others.
Tina's job is chips.
@Gear is magic with labels.

One inch looks RHC.
7/8 looks THC.
The RHC is actually 1 1/16" dia

Yes, this. Lets make sure we have learned from other previous mistakes. I'm sure Tina can guide as to how much larger that recess has to be but one of the big advantages of this whole hybrid thing is to avoid spinners. We have to make sure and not go backwards on this.

Maybe so. To me, that red $5 match is acceptable. I would be disappointed in all the rest. Even the Black $100. It is close, but the label black is too saturated or something on all of them. For me it just does not work yet.

We can hope though..... Maybe one day?

One would think so since they make or outsource the labels. They could have their label manufacturer print a bunch of color sheets with CMYK (or Pantone or whatever) codes and then match them to their chip colors.

The 7/8 inch inlay will also allow for more ceramic surface area that will allow for better stacking and less likelihood for spinners. Smaller the inlay/label the better if web mold is the choice, IMO.
I'll echo this ,the fact that they stack well and are less prone to tipping/spinning is the only reason I'm considering another set. No-molds are great for what I wanted but for any future sets I'll lean towards anything that's more sturdy.

Well, what about @justincarothers new Greek mold that has a 1" inlay area & stack every bit as well as any old THC bricks.

If we are going for stackability I don't believe it would be possible for them to stack any better than his do. Oh, by the way... the small crowns that @Himewad has are 1" dia and they stack like bricks too.

If the majority think it looks better with more area around the perimeter and a smaller inlay then so be it, but let's not make this decision based on how a smaller inlay area "is going to make em stack better", because that just isn't the case.

I am also making sure what label sizes are possible with Tina.

Have we looked into small latches on either side of the chip so that they can click and snap into eachother?

The smaller the recess, the more surface area there is on each face where there is no mold. This surface area will produce better contact chip to chip, they will stay together and be less "slippery".
