1st annual men’s weekend of golf and poker. Had a cash game last night. Put the Montecito’s and Desjgn in play.

I had the pleasure of attending the North Texas Poker Group monthly game hosted by @TexRex on Friday night. I had planned on arriving early to meet and talk with Rex, but the Dallas weather and traffic did not cooperate. I didn’t take or post as many pictures as I had hoped, but had a great time. Rex runs a great game, and has some get players in attendance. It was nice to see how someone else hosts a long time running game. Also enjoyed playing with @Frogzilla and @dkersey again. It’s great to see some DFW PCF representation. Rex had the PCF table toppers and it made me wish I had picked some of those up from @Tommy. A solid alternative to fold out tables. I didn’t finish well, but I did finish deeper than @Frogzilla, who was taken out early by an old lady  :ROFLMAO:

Thanks again Rex for the invite. I look forward to the next time I’m able to make it up that way.

Craig, what a pleasure to meet you in person and have you attend! And thank you for the gift of DesJgn cards. I've wanted to try some. Craig also brought a few of his chips and plaques -- cash and tournament sets. They are really nice, custom ceramics. He has both 39mm and 43mm chips, plus 2 denoms of plaques. Craig got to quickly review my four sets. Craig, Frog and some others used my cash set to play a cash game. I still have not played with them myself!

Weather created all kinds of fun problems! It disrupted Texas high school football. For those who may be unaware, that takes some pretty bad weather! While we didn't lose power at the house, thanks to underground power lines, we lost the satellite connection for our music a couple of times. Thus the weather had little impact on the poker itself, though a couple of players looked like they needed life preservers when they got here.

This was the maiden voyage of the table toppers, and all reports from players is they were great. Cards really slide well on them. I wasn't sure how I'd like the 6mm thickness, but now that I've played on it, I loved it! The topper is smooth on top, so I'm not sure how they put the design on it, but it is so smooth, it's like it's built in. I suspect it will last a long time.

PCF was well represented -- 4 of the 15 are PCFers! I wish we all four could have made the final table (of 10), but only 2 of us did, and I was the only one to make it in the money. I may have to implement a house rule that PCFers are automatically in the money!

I was sad about missing the Minneapolis meetup this weekend, so I decided to host a game for my local crew.

In for $160, out for $140. The game was good but I ran pretty badly tonight: AA and one of my two sets cracked, got coolered in a huge pot against @ni9n3r, but still ended the night effectively even.

Aztar Indiana tonight FTW, but man I need to give these chippies a bath.

Running bad and ending up down only $20 is a win!
What’s in the Glencairn?

Hit up a new home game in Allen, TX. 1/2NL, in for $600, out for $800 in 6.5hrs. Great game, ran up a stack early on and got coolered for heaps. I was able to maintain my composure, get unstuck, and thankfully leave with a profit for the night. View attachment 204072
Those chips are from some custom chips site, right? I can’t remember the name at the moment. I know they’re plastic, but how are they?

I don't know if this qualifies as a home game, but it sure wasn't a casino game...

We weren't on top of a mountain, but I think this was close enough :). These chips are perfect for traveling/camping! I thought about selling them since I prefer clay chips but now that I've used them once I think I have to keep them.

The only other chips I would have been comfortable using for this were my dice chips and I think I can safely get rid of them now. These chips are so much prettier!
