Are you guys playing by candlelight?

One night, we just sat down for our Monday game at the old house and the power went out for literally 1/3 of the city. We actually had enough tea candles (Thanks GF) to light up each chip and hole card area and a few in the center to light up the room. And headlamps. We actually had a good 4 hour game in the dark....

That's some serious dgening.

Of course, we have enough flashlights on hand for just such an occurrence, so I understand the need to degen.

@T_Chan and I had a league game one year, where the power went out. With the aid of everyone's cell phone lights, we played on. The final table was a raised lighted rail , powered by a car battery.

It was one of the most fun games ever.

I wish I could find the photo. That was a fun night, I think we played until that battery almost ran out. I know I've got a picture somewhere, but can't find it, it was something like 5ish years ago.

Are illuminated raised rails functional? Absolutely yes.

What I thought was going to be a pretty tame night turned into the wildest ones we've had since I started hosting a couple of years ago. Just over £700 on the table by the end of the night; pretty mad for our 25p / 25p stakes.

I had a very eventful night; one of the only times I've ever lost an initial buy-in actually, after losing a three-way all-in on the flop to a runner-runner straight. Ran it back up though, thankfully.

In for £114, out for £125.

Not quite as good as the guy that turned up drunk, bought in for £40, drank another half bottle of JD and walked out with £370 though.

P.S. These chips are such a blast to play with.

League tourney then cash at Havana Cardroom. Busted right before the final table after flopping trips but lost to a two outer on the turn. Then treaded water in cash. Fun night though. Congrats to asshole Brian for winning it.

Super fun game at @Windwalker’s place with a bunch of PCFers (@WhiteMamba1646, @TKO, @Steppenwolf, @TricycleClub, @Windwalker, myself and Ian from the Havana Cardroom poker league). $1 single blind but definitely didn’t play like that. Tuesday game moved to @WhiteMamba1646 ’s Havana Cardroom tonight. $20 tourney with rebuys built a pot of $1400. I cashed in the tourney for $180 after the two chip leaders ran into each other with KK and AA all in pre flop and the guy who was second in chips bubbled.

Then cash I was in for $410 and out for $327. Fun night. Lots of action. And the new Wynn $100 plaques are pretty stellar.

I say it sarcastically because I know of two or three players there who’s tradition is to go all in blind right out of the gate haha
