In for €50 (after topping up several times)
Out for €59. In the end I was glad to finish on a small win.
As expected, the hot pink isle of capris were a big hit with our female players. Can recommend.
The hand of the night was versus a player I've been playing with for 6 years now. He is sticky, likes to call and see a showdown. He rarely ever raises post flop and if he does, he's got a strong made hand. He plays pretty much face up.
I've got ~€25 effective in my stack.
Villain open raises from the CO to 50ct (a rare event, so I expect him to have 99+ AQo+), I'm in the sb with JhJs.
I reraise my JJ to €2, determined to play a big pot with him, because it's usually easy to navigate the board postflop vs him.
He calls.
Flop is 4c7c8d
I downbet €1,5, he calls. From this player, this usually means 2 overcards or maybe an overpair that is not strong enough to raise (in his mind at least)
Pot is €7.
Turn is 9h - he looks unhappy.
I bet €4 - he quickly calls.
Pot is €15
River is 10s
I don't like it. All pocket pairs he might hold now are either higher than mine or have improved to a set. That and his eyes light up when the card hits and he goes to grab chips out of turn.
I check to him, he instabets €9 with a move I've seen him do only when he's got the nuts.
I fold my JJ face up, expecting him to have TT.
He says "don't worry man, I had it." tables AKc. Everyone looks confused. He realizes the river was a spade, not a club, so his flush draw actually bricked. Everyone (except me ofc) has a good laugh and I rebuy.
