Had a great time last night at @flipupchipup’s house. He also smoked a fantastic brisket and his wife baked me a coconut cream birthday cake.

Final stack picture. Got lucky to build it up after taking a brutal beat 30 minutes in. Don’t usually tell bad beat stories, but this was a bad one. I was holding a six in the big blind in a limped pot. Flop was 666. Ended up getting all in on the river, only to get beat by a rivered straight flush. Bad beat payout was me giving my stack away. Why couldn’t it have happened at a casino?

Did your kicker play and did your opponent use both of his hole cards?

Guess I don’t understand. Kicker for quads? And, yes, he had to use both hole cards. Not a way to have a straight flush on that board without using both hole cards.

Casinos around here require you to use both cards to qualify for bad beat jackpot

If you had 65, and the board ran out 66698, you have 4 sixes with a 9, and your 5 doesn’t play. In that case, you aren’t using both of your cards and your hand doesn’t qualify for the casino bad beat. Your other card has to be higher than the board.
